The Shell Sled is a group of vehicles invented by Donatello in the 2003 animated series. It first appears in the episode "Rogue in the House, Part 1".
Each of the Turtles has their own Shell Sled and each is painted that turtles' mask color. The Shell Sleds skim over the water much like a hydrofoil, each able to move at incredible speeds with excellent maneuverability. This is shown as the turtles race each other through the sewers, before they encounter Zog.
Due to damage to his breathing apparatus, Zog mistakes Donatello's Shell Sled for a Federation robot and destroys it. Because the Shell Sleds have nitrogen fuel enhancer tanks, Donatello is able to take the one from the destroyed sled and use it to rig a temporary breather for the Triceraton soldier.
Just as Donatello completes this task, the fake Splinter robot appears. Thinking this is their master and that he's been hurt, the turtles decide to head for the lair, but then the real Master Splinter arrives. After Zog pulls the robot apart, the turtles head out to track the signal that directed the fake. It is then shown that Leonardo's Shell Sled can be extended to take passengers and that it can carry the weight of a Triceraton.
The Shell Sled also makes an appearance in the Fast Forward season episode "Turtle X-Tinction". It is on display in Cody Jones' penthouse relics shrine room. Darius Dunn, who has hacked into and taken control of Turtle X, destroys it.
