Shadows of the Mind's Eye is the fifth issue of the Dreamwave comics. It was published in October 2003, and is the first issue to not adapt episodes of the 2003 TV series.

Brooding on a rooftop, Raphael is ticked that he can’t be thanked by the people he helps; that ninja have to stay concealed in the shadows. Seeing a cat stuck in a tree, Raph discretely throws his sai, cutting the branch so the cat can land safely in the arms of the little girl below. Raph figures he deserves one small thanks; just one. A vision of Splinter warns him not to, but Raph approaches the child, named Pammy, anyway.
