Trivia
- This is the fourth 30-minute episode following "Mystic Mayhem", "Bug Busters" and "The Evil League of Mutants".
- This episode marks Shredder's debut, however he was only seen in a flashback and at the very end of the episode.
- As the Turtles spy on Draxum at the zoo, the two humans, warthog and rhino are a nod to the classic foes of the Turtles, Bebop and Rocksteady.
- Oddly enough, the two humans bare a resemblance to the human forms of the two mutants from both the 1987 and 2012 TV series. Both humans resemble Bebop and Rocksteady as humans, but with the same body proportions as their 2012 TV series counterparts.
- April's ringtone is the same as the ringtones for the 2012 TV series' T-Phone.
- According to J.J. Conway in a storyboard, the creature Lou Jitsu fought as seen in the Battle Nexus flashback resembled the Spasmosaur from the 2012 TV series.
