The Shadow Warriors, also referred to as Magical Warriors and collectively as Shadow Army and Magical Army, are shadoy henchment of Desmodus, created by his magic.
History[]
The Shadow Warriors were created by magic utilized by Desmodus, in order to take over Japan. Previously, he had been ridiculed back on Flagenon for practicing magic, but on Earth, he was free to do so.
The Shadow Warriors are weakened and even destructible once exposed to light, so Desmodus set up a sun-blocking generator in his stronghold. He sent the warriors out to capture all villagers they came across, even nabbing the shōgun's top enforcers.
When Usagi finally returned to his home dimension and invited the Turtles to visit him, they encountered a number of Shadow Warriors in the forest, on their way to a nearby village. They had trouble fighting off the Warriors, until Donatello turned up the brightness on the screen of his Turtlecom, allowing them to become vulnerable enough to be dispatched. When they reached the village, they learned from the sole remaining resident, Kai, what the Shadow Warriors had done. Usagi insisted that the Turtles should return home and let him deal with Desmodus and the Shadow Warriors themselves. The Turtles declined and stayed to help.
Desmodus learned that his warriors were dispatched with artificial light, which did not exist in this world yet. Thus, he disguised himself in a cloak and pretended to be under attack from the Shadow Warriors to trick the Turtles and Usagi. They came across him and "rescued" him from the Shadow Warriors, and upon learning that the Turtlecom was the light source, he asked to see Don's and pretended to fumble and dropped it, causing it to break. Desmodus then revealed himself, and although the Turtles and Usagi prepared to fight, Don told him that they surrendered.
Donnie and led the others to escape Desmodus' dungeon, and Leonardo had Michelangelo accompany Donnie to disengage the sun-blocking generator, while he, Usagi, and Raphael took on Desmodus. The villain sicced his Shadow Warriors on them, and Leo tried to weaken them with his Turtlecom, but Desmodus had tinkered with it to reduce its light output. The Shadow Warriors all dissolved when Don managed to destroy the generator.
Appearance[]
The Shadow Warriors were shadowed beings who resembled bat people from Flagenon - incidentally more like Wingnut, specifically his original action figure in shape. The are completely black except for their eyes and teeth.
