Savanti is a character in the TMNT comic strips. He is a large, demon-type being who has long teeth and horns.

Time Travelling Turtles[]
The Turtles are hanging out in the Turtle Lair when Renet suddenly appears in front of Donatello. She shoves a short rod into his hands and tells him that if a monster comes looking for it to hide. She then vanishes. Don accidentally activates the rod, which turns out to be a time teleportation device that sends the Turtles back to the Cretaceous period. Savanti, who is chasing after the time wand, arrives in the lair after they are gone. He confronts Splinter and demands the rod of time. Savanti orders Splinter to release it unto him or be vanquished. Splinter has no idea what he's talking about and finally convinces Savanti of that. Savanti then asks to use the lair's bathroom.
After eighteen hours, Splinter tries to talk Savanti into coming out of the bathroom, telling him that locking himself in the bathroom accomplishes nothing. Savanti disagrees and replies that he's gotten a lot of reading done. He does finally come out, and that's when he sees Mr. Troglodyte, who found the time wand in the cave where Don left it and zapped himself into the lair. Savanti leaps at Mr. Troglodyte and the two fight, with Savanti coming out on the losing end. He tells Splinter that he thinks the monkey should keep the wand.
Savanti then tries bargaining with Mr. Troglodyte. He offers to trade his pogs, his comics, his baseball cards and an autographed photo of Pat Sajak. Mr. Troglodyte refuses and Savanti then tries pleading, but that only causes the creature to activate the wand and go back to his own time period. Savanti throws a temper tantrum about having chased the stick through time and space for eons and it slips through his grasp again. Splinter begins to say "if at first you don't succeed..." but Savanti tells him if he finishes that saying, he'll be obligated to pummel him. Splinter then offers him some tea to make him feel better, but Savanti shouts that he's an evil time warrior, he's big and bad and he doesn't drink tea. Holding up a platter, Splinter then offers him some fresh out of the oven muffins, which calms Savanti down.
Finally deciding that he'll have to live without the time rod, Savanti tells Splinter he's leaving. Splinter asks what he's going to do and Savanti says that being an evil, nefarious and insidious time warrior, he supposes he must apply himself to a suitable task. He is next seen at his campaign headquarters where he is running for President.
