Sarnath is one of the Triasts, a sentient robot slave created by the Mergia. Wishing for equal rights, the Triast rebelled, starting a war on their planet. The Triast won, but the Mergia left the planet instead of living together equally like the Triast wanted. Before leaving, Sarnath's former master plucked out all three of his eyes, leaving him blind.
