In Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sam is a Lou Jitsu School of Ninjutsu student.
Physical appearance[]
Sam is a young black boy with short curly dark brown hair, black eyes, dark brown skin, and a thin figure. He wears a white karategi with a black belt and a black watch on his left wrist.
History[]
Sam debuted in "Fists of Furry". He was training at the Lou Jitsu School of Ninjutsu when Splinter, disguised as Randall the teenager, entered with April O'Neil. However, deprived of a teacher, Sam's moves were only bastardized versions of Lou Jitsu's techniques. He was despondent when Splinter challenged the Komodo Dragons in a martial arts competition for control of the Lou Jitsu School, aware he wasn't skilled enough to compete. He watched Splinter instruct April and afterward watched her compete and eventually win against the Komodo Dragons.

- Sara: Sara is a fellow student at the Lou Jitsu School of Ninjutsu.
- Jake: Jake is a fellow student at the Lou Jitsu School of Ninjutsu.
- April O'Neil: Sam rooted for April as she competed against the Komodo Dragons and was friendly towards her.
- Hamato Yoshi / Lou Jitsu / Splinter: Sam was friendly towards Splinter who he knew as "Randall".

- Kristoff Van Bradford: Sam fears Kristoff Van Bradford as the teacher of the Komodo Dragons.
- Komodo Dragon students: Sam is intimidated by the Komodo Dragon students as they enter the Lou Jitsu School and beat up Sam and the other students every day at 3:30.
