Run of the Mill Pizza

Run of the Mill Pizza is a recurring location in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Description

Run of the Mill Pizza is a Yōkai pizzeria, but it is not located in the Hidden City, its entry portal is hidden behind a graffiti mural in New York City. It is owned and managed by Señor Hueso. Run of the Mill Pizza is open every day of the week excluding Sunday. Its open hours Monday through Thursday are 3 PM to midnight while its open hours Friday and Saturday are 11 AM to 2 AM. Its pizza is sold by the slice and its dining options include takeout and delivery via call.

In addition to serving pizza in a fairly typical manner, Run of the Mill Pizza offers a challenge for certain patrons known as the Maze of Death, wherein one or more challengers must traverse a trap-filled labyrinth without using any magical abilities in order to obtain the "World's Greatest Pizza". Challengers who make it through the maze successfully without using magical abilities will be placed on the "Wall of Champions", while those who break the rules of the challenge will be placed on the "Wall of Cheaters".

History

In "Minotaur Maze", the Turtles followed a Fire Yōkai into the entrance where Leonardo dragged Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael into entering the Maze of Death after overhearing two patrons talk about it. When they were nearly crushed, burned, and impaled near the center of the maze, Leo was forced to use his mystic ōdachi's power to get them out of the trap. This angered the Minotaur who unleashed the vines in the center of the maze on them. As Leo commented that they have tried better pizzas, the Minotaur felt offended and allowed them to have the World's Greatest Pizza to prove them wrong. When Leo asked if this will get them a spot on the Wall of Champions while commenting about his good side, the Minotaur said, "Wrong wall" and hit him with a vine. This got the Turtles their picture on the Maze of Death's Wall of Cheaters with the comment "The Pizza is a knock out" underneath it.

In "The Fast and the Furriest", the Turtles arrived at Run of the Mill Pizza looking for the culprit who stole the Turtle Tank. When they started questioning some of the patrons about it, Hueso criticized their “bad cop routine“. Mikey then stated that they are not the police, and Hueso gleefully had them thrown out.

In "Operation: Normal", April O'Neil, Leo and Donnie sat in a booth at Run of the Mill Pizza where a waiter served them the Super Creepy Supreme pizza. While April was discussing having a conventional day and Leo and Donnie were enjoying the pizza, Exploding Frankie appeared for a patron's birthday. He exploded himself and, while Leo and Donnie covered themselves with the menu, April was covered in slime and returned to school.

In "You Got Served", Leo and Mikey worked at Run of the Mill Pizza as temporary chefs and waiters for the Makers of Brutality, and the Masters of Barbarianism after all of Hueso's staff fled. When they pleased the mob bosses, they were rewarded with unicorns. This lead Leo and Mikey into making their service a competition about who can get the most unicorns by the end of the night.

In "Portal Jacked!", Hueso was constructing a ship model in his Run of the Mill Pizza office when Leo found him, demanding his help to find his missing brothers after a teleportation attempt failed. Hueso was hesitant to aid him, but eventually left his restaurant to show Leo a gateway to the Hidden City.

Mikey and Donnie posted an advertisement for "mystic metal" on Run of the Mill Pizza's bulletin board in "One Man's Junk".

In "The Hidden City Job", Leo was asking for Hueso's pizza recommendations to best make up with Donnie after bickering with him. Capitán Piel soon after approached Hueso at Run of the Mill Pizza requesting his assistance in a thievery job so he could repay his last debt and finally settle into a piracy-free life again. Hueso adamantly refused, instigating a fight between him and Piel and consequently driving his patrons away in fear, but was persuaded to help due to Leo's insistence. Once the job was completed, Hueso and Piel returned to Run of the Mill Pizza with Leo and gifted him a free pizza in gratitude for his help which Leo proceeded to share with Donnie inside their tamed simurgh's joey pouch.
