Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
Roy is one of three mutant turtle-like homunculi created by Donatello using the Warp Crystal, known as the Warp Turtles.
History[]
At some point in his past, Donatello created the Warp Turtles to fill the void left by his estranged family. However, he was just as distant and dismissive of them as he was his first family, partially due to seeing the worst of himself in each of them. This led the Warp Turtles to consider Don an absentee "father" at best and a bad one at worst, but they still held a place for him in their hearts.
The present day Donatello and Venus end up in the past near StockGen just prior to Don and his family's mutations, on a quest to locate his future self to help stop Armaggon. As they are attacked by the future Bob, the Warp Turtles jump into action and fend him off. They introduce themselves to Don and Venus and tell them of their origin, which troubles Don as he can never see himself becoming so callous. He assures the Warp Turtles that he finds them fascinating and does not want to travel down the emotional path their father then. The Future Don then suddenly appears and Present Don beseeches him for help in stopping Armaggon. Future Don refuses and instead intends to erase the Warp Turtles. Present Don and Venus attack him to stop him, but he ends up activating the Warp Crystal and erasing Roy's brother Max. Present Don conjures a giant hand with his gofu and grabs Future Don, incensed that he would essentially kill his own child. Present Don attempts to persuade his future self, who only offers a box to help and then exits through a portal.
Roy and Pris explain that the sigil on the box pertains to the concept of permeance. Deducing how to change the sigil to one indicating impermeance, Don applies this to the sigil in his future self's journal and it unlocks a set of coordinates. Don opens a portal with the coordinates and he, Roy, Pris, and Venus head through it just before a recovered Bob can reach them.
They arrive in feudal Japan, overlooking Krang and Sulfurch as they plan to extract the QNA from the Hamato family. Roy, Don, and Pris attack Krang and incapacitate him for the moment. Then after he draws a bellflower on the ground with his bō, Don has Roy and Pris place a gofu in each of the petals. In order to bring Armaggon down to size, he needs to swallow the imperneance sigil. Don intends to sacrifice himself to do it, but Venus does it in his stead when the shark shows up. Now at a manageable size, Roy, Pris, and Don can combat Armaggon directly. Don uses a piece of Venus' dragon scale to activate the gofu, and casts permanence and impermanence at the same time on Armaggon, solidifying him in place and ending the nightmare. Roy, Don, and Venus leave the solidified Armaggon and mentally broken Bob. TMNT #150
