[Opening sequence and theme song.]
[Episode opens on a black and white television commercial. A couple is being menaced by a pair of monsters. Suddenly a muscular man swings down from the tall buildings and places himself in front of the couple.]
Movie Rondo "Come on, alien scum! Make my night!"
Announcer "This is Rondo!"
[The television in inside the turtles’ lair. Raphael turns the TV off.]
Raphael "Oh, man, this is too much! How can you guys watch that big phony?"
Michelangelo "Dude, he's no phony.
Rondo's totally cool!"
[He uses the remote to turn the TV back on.]
Rondo's totally cool!"
Donatello "It's only a commercial for his new movie, Raphael."
Michelangelo "Yeah, and look what April got us; four tickets to the premier of it. "Rondo VIII: Hit Hardest.""
Raphael "Yeah, I think I'll wait for the home video."
Leonardo "And I need to do my ninja workout."
Michelangelo "Don't pass this one up, dudes. The theater is serving free pizza."
Leonardo "On the other hand—"
Raphael "It is a unique cultural event."
Donatello "And we wouldn't want to disappoint April."
Leonardo "Where are you going, Donatello? The movie doesn't start for a couple of hours."
Donatello "Oh, April arranged for me to use the City College biology lab this week."
Leonardo "There's April now."
[He points to the TV.]
April O’Neil "This is April O'Neil here at the elegant Bijou Theater for the premier of a new movie. In a moment, I'll have an exclusive interview with the star, Rondo himself. Stay tuned to Channel 6. Ugh, another movie star interview? Why can't I cover some real news?"
[Cut to the Technodrome.]
Krang "Shredder, look at this!"
Shredder "What is it, Krang? Have you won the lottery?"
Krang "Bigger, better. I have established a computer link to the biology laboratory at City College on Earth. A student there is working on a substance called a vitalizer."
Shredder "Is this where I'm supposed to ask what it does?"
Krang "I'll tell you anyway. A vitalizer can bring inanimate objects to life. Imagine, Shredder! Limitless armies of zombie-like objects under my command. The thought sends shivers down my spine."
Shredder "You don't have a spine."
Krang "Always the cheap shot, huh, Shredder? But never mind that. We must have that vitalizer. It could give us—"
Shredder "Enough! Enough! We'll leave immediately."
Krang "Splendid. I'll activate the portal."
[Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady enter the portal. At City College, Donatello examines the lab.]
Donatello "Boy, this City College lab has some incredible equipment."
Oswald Dren "Who are you? What are you doing here?
You're a Ninja Turtle!"
[Gasps.]
You're a Ninja Turtle!"
Donatello "Well, Donatello to be exact."
Oswald "I never knew you had an interest in science."
Donatello "Man does not live by turtle food alone."
Oswald "I'm Oswald Dren. I've been working on an experimental substance called a vitalizer."
Donatello "A vitalizer?"
Oswald "Yeah-huh. It activates the molecules of inanimate objects."
Donatello "Wow. That would be a major scientific breakthrough."
Oswald "Except that someone is tapping into my computer and changing the numbers. It's as if he's trying to guide my work."
Donatello "Hmm, I wonder if that's Krang and Shredder's doing. They'd love to get their hands on a vitalizer."
Oswald "Krang? Shredder? Who are they?"
Donatello "Uh, you're better off not knowing."
[Oswald’s watch beeps.]
Oswald "Uh-oh. I'm off to work. I'm a part-time projectionist at The Bijou."
Donatello "Oh, I'm headed there too! We can go together."
[Oswald places the Rondo movie flyer that Donatello hands him on the table but knocks over the vial of vitalizer. He picks up the vial, but some of the vitalizer is still on the table. As soon as the pair leave, the portal opens to admit Shredder and his mutants.]
Shredder "Find that vitalizer!"
[Bebop’s elbow hits a TV and a cartoon comes on.]
Bebop "Hoo-hoo, look! It's Cheezy and Sleazy."
Rocksteady "Ooh, ooh! My favorite show!"
[Shredder slams his fist on the table, hitting the puddle of vitalizer.]
Shredder "Stop watching those stupid cartoons and find the vitalizer!"
[The vitalizer has splattered the TV. The two cartoon characters jump right out of the screen.]
Bebop "Hey! Cheezy and Sleazy jumped out of the TV!"
Rocksteady "See, I told you they was real."
Bebop "But how can cartoons come to life, boss?"
Shredder "Only one way. That student must have succeeded in creating the vitalizer! But where is he?"
Rocksteady "Maybe he took it to the movies."
[He picks up the movie flyer.]
Shredder "To the movies?"
Rocksteady "Yeah. Look, boss."
[He hands the flyer to Shredder.]
Shredder "Well, well. We'll give them a show they won't soon forget."
[A car pulls up in front of the movie theater, where crowds line the entrance. April, her camera man, and Rondo exit the car.]
April "Rondo, I'm sure your many fans want to know; what are you really like?"
Rondo "Oh, I'm no different, really, from any other filthy rich, pampered superstar."
[Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo exit a manhole behind the theater crowds. They are wearing disguises.]
Michelangelo "Whoa, totally epic. Rondo in the flesh."
Raphael "A moment that’ll be etched in my memory forever. Now where's the free pizza?"
[Rondo climbs up on a wooden crate. He’s barely taller than April.]
Rondo "From humble beginnings, I worked my way up to where I am today, big, tough, and mean."
Michelangelo "The dude is shrimp-sized."
Raphael "Isn't movie magic wonderful?"
Rondo "So long, fans. Don't miss me in my latest adventure, Rondo VIII: Hit Hardest. For you, babe."
[He gives April a movie ticket.]
April "This is April O'Neil live for Channel 6 News, signing off. Hi, fellas. I'm glad you could make it."
Raphael "Pizza is our pied piper."
Oswald "See you later, Donatello."
Donatello "Right, Oswald. That's Oswald. He's the film projectionist."
Michelangelo "Yo, dudes, if we stand around here any longer, we'll miss the mozzar-- the, uh, movie!"
[On the movie screen, Rondo battles monsters.]
Rondo "Hey~ha!"
[April and the turtles are sitting together. Leonardo sighs.]
Leonardo "How much longer is this movie?"
Donatello "Too long."
[The movie image turns sideways and the audience starts laughing. The image freezes and then the film burns. Raphael laughs.]
Raphael "Now this I like!"
[On the big screen, the movie is gone and shadows from the projection booth appear.]
Michelangelo "Those shadows look mondo familiar."
Raphael "It's Shredder and the mutants!"
April "They're in the projection booth."
Donatello "And they're after Oswald."
Leonardo "Let's stop 'em!"
Shredder "Give that to me!"
[Oswald runs downs the stairs towards the lobby.]
Oswald "No! Donatello told me all about you! You'll never get my vitalizer!"
[The turtles tackle Bebop and Rocksteady.]
Shredder "The turtles!"
Oswald "The Ninja Turtles! Oh, am I ever glad to see you!"
[Shredder snatches the vial of vitalizer out of Oswald’s hand.]
Shredder "Now I have what I need! Rocksteady, deal with those shellbacks."
Rocksteady "Right, boss. This rock is gonna to roll!"
[Rocksteady shoves all of the turtles and all five of them go rolling down the theater aisles. Rocksteady tears out a seat and throws it at the turtles, but Leonardo slashes it in half. The audience starts cheering.]
Leonardo "The audience thinks this is part of the show."
Raphael "Well, I am insulted. This is better than that movie."
Oswald "Give me that vitalizer."
[He grabs for the vial and the vitalizer spills on both he and Shredder. Oswald has movie film wrapped around his body and the vitalizer gets on that too.]
Shredder "Whoa, you've made me spill it."
[There is a loud pop and a puff of smoke, and suddenly two of the movie monsters are standing in the theater.]
Shredder "The vitalizer brought those movie monsters to life! Ah!"
[Oswald and Shredder both run into the theater and the monsters chase them. The audience screams and runs for the exits.]
April "This is your movie. Do something!"
Rondo "I am. I'm getting out of here."
[He runs away. April ducks behind some chairs as the monsters run past. One of them hits a pillar and it starts to fall, coming down right where April is standing.]
Bebop "I'm out of here!"
April "Oh, no!"
Donatello "Look out for that pillar!"
April "Oh, no!
Thanks for the rescue, you big lug, but put me down!"
[One of the monsters snatches her up just before the pillar falls.]
Thanks for the rescue, you big lug, but put me down!"
Leonardo "Those creatures are getting away with April."
[The two monsters burst through the back wall and run into an alley, with April still in their clutches.]
Donatello "We've gotta save her."
Shredder "Ho ho, those movie monsters will keep the turtles busy for a while. We must take this vitalizer back to Krang."
[The turtles exit the theater.]
April "Help! Someone help!"
Leonardo "They're up there!"
[The monsters are climbing a building.]
April "Put me down!"
[The monsters climb onto the roof. The turtles toss their turtle lines onto the roof and climb up in pursuit. Raphael whistles.]
Raphael "Hey, Big and Ugly, drop that lady now!"
[The monster throws April at him. She screams and lands on Raphael.]
April "Ooh! Oh, thanks a lump, Raphael."
[Growling, the monsters pick up Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo and throw them off the roof.]
Turtles "Whoa!"
April "Oh, no!"
Turtles "Whoa!"
[The three turtles fall onto a canopy and bounce right back up to the roof, where they smash into the monsters. The monsters start running.]
Michelangelo "Take that, alien dudes!"
Leonardo "Donatello, would you mind explaining how those movie monsters came to life?"
Donatello "Me? How should I know?"
April "Well, who would know?"
[Oswald climbs the fire escape ladder onto the roof.]
Oswald "Oh, I'm sorry, folks. It's the formula I invented that brought those creatures to life."
Raphael "Brilliant move."
Leonardo "Well, you've gotta figure out a way to put those monsters back on the movie screen where they belong."
Donatello "Come on, Oswald, let's get back to your lab and see what we can do."
Oswald "Right, Donatello."
April "Meanwhile, I'm off to Channel 6 to cover the story."
[The three turtles enter an alley in pursuit of the monsters, but a rumbling sound stops them.]
Leonardo "What was that?
Rondo. Why were you hiding in that crate?"
[Rondo leaps out of a crate.]
Rondo. Why were you hiding in that crate?"
Rondo "Uh, who? Me? Wait a minute. Who are you?"
Leonardo "We're the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And you're just the one to help us find those creatures."
Rondo "Uh, sorry. Late for a meeting."
[He starts to run off.]
Michelangelo "Dude, you've gotta help. Us fans are counting on you."
Rondo "My fans? Well, that's different.
You can count on Rondo!"
[Melodramatically.]
You can count on Rondo!"
Michelangelo "All right, dude!"
[They high five.]
Rondo "Oh, ow! Oh, oh, ouch! Did you have to do that so hard?"
Raphael "Yeah, I think we've got big problems."
Rondo "Oh, what a relief. We must have scared them off.
Oh, please don't let them hurt me."
[The monsters come up behind the group.]
Oh, please don't let them hurt me."
[He leaps into Michelangelo’s arms.]
Michelangelo "Rondo, you're frightened?"
Rondo "No, not frightened. Petrified! Mama!"
[He runs away.]
Michelangelo "The dude is a total wimp."
[Both monsters start chasing Rondo down the street.]
Raphael "Hey, those creatures are going after Rondo instead of us."
Michelangelo "They must think they're still in the flick."
Leonardo "Come on, turtles. We've got a hero to save!"
[Donatello and Oswald are back in the City College lab.]
Donatello "You mean you don't remember how you mixed the vitalizer?"
Oswald "Uh, no. But, if that Krang fellow was helping me through this computer link-up, the data should still be in the computer."
Donatello "I hope you're right."
[The turtles chase the monsters who are chasing Rondo. The monsters have him cornered.]
Rondo "Oh, no. Stay away, please."
[One of the monsters throws a car at the turtles. An oncoming car comes to a screeching stop and then skids sideways. Its headlights shine on the two monsters.]
Leonardo "Look, you can see those car's headlights right through the creatures."
Raphael "So what?"
Leonardo "So, maybe we can use it against them.
It's working! Come on, guys. Hit the lights!"
[He jumps into a parked car and turns on the headlights.]
It's working! Come on, guys. Hit the lights!"
[Michelangelo and Raphael jump into cars and turn on the headlights. The monsters run.]
Michelangelo "Fantabuloso! They don't dig light."
Raphael "That means they'll be easier to fight in the daylight."
Leonardo "But there's still a lot of darkness left."
[Shredder has returned to the Technodrome.]
Krang "This is all the vitalizer you could find?"
Shredder "Don't worry! It's more than enough to terrorize the people of Earth."
Krang "Oh? And what are you going to terrorize them with? More Cheezy and Sleazy cartoons?"
Shredder "Oh, so you heard about that, huh?"
[An electronic warbling comes from Krang’s computer.]
Krang "Someone is operating the City College computer. They must not get the vitalizer formula! You must stop them!"
[In the lab, a liquid sizzles on top of a segment of movie film.]
Donatello "Well, that formula didn't work either."
Oswald "Oh, let's not use this footage. It's the scene where Rondo is trapped in a pit full of poisonous snakes."
Shredder "That sounds like just the scene I'm looking for."
Donatello "Shredder!"
Rocksteady "It's turtle-tramplin' time!"
[The other three turtles stand in front of a building.]
Raphael "Why are we here, Michelangelo? Do those movie monsters own a condominium?"
Michelangelo "No, but Rondo does. I saw it on Entertainment Tomorrow."
Raphael "Oh, yeah? So which condo belongs to Rondo?
I'm sorry. I just couldn't resist."
[Laughs and breaks the fourth wall.]
I'm sorry. I just couldn't resist."
Michelangelo "Well, actually, it's the penthouse."
Leonardo "We'll take the turtle elevator!"
[They toss their turtle lines over the building’s top railing and climb.]
Raphael "I know it's a silly question, but why didn't we just take the regular elevator?"
Leonardo "I prefer the element of surprise."
[A sofa flies out of the condo, slides along the roof and slams into the turtles. It crashes into and breaks through the railing and then hangs precariously on the edge, with the turtles clinging to it.]
All "Whoa!"
Raphael "You're right, Leonardo. It works every time."
[Rondo flies out of the condo and hits the sofa, knocking it loose. The turtles grab their lines and Leonardo catches Rondo.]
Rondo "Ugh!"
Leonardo "Got you, Rondo."
Rondo "Oh, no. My favorite sofa."
[The monsters stand on the roof, looking down at the turtles who are still hanging onto their lines.]
Raphael "Suddenly, the phrase "on the ropes" takes on a whole new meaning."
[Back at City College, Oswald and Donatello are tied up and seated on the floor. Shredder holds a vial of vitalizer.]
Shredder "Thanks to your vitalizer, the famous monsters of film land will soon be appearing all over the city. Allow me to give you a preview of coming attractions."
[He pours a drop of vitalizer on a segment of film. There is a poof of smoke and snakes slither out of the film and onto the floor.]
Oswald "Oh, no. Poisonous snakes!"
[Oswald and Donatello are standing as the snakes menace them.]
Donatello "Ugh. Come on, Oswald. We've gotta... get out of here."
Oswald "I'm trying!
Another Rondo?"
[Suddenly the film pops again and movie Rondo appears.]
Another Rondo?"
Donatello "That's not the real Rondo. That's the movie Rondo."
Rondo "Ah-hah! Two people who need my help! Or is it one person and a turtle? Heeyah! Hiyah!
So much for those reptiles. Now, to set you two free."
[He bats the snakes into a glass terrarium.]

Oswald "Gee, thanks, Mr. Rondo."
Rondo "Now, if you folks will excuse me, I've got a couple of monsters to stop."
[He leaps through a window.]
Oswald "Now that Rondo is brave."
Donatello "Of course. Movie heroes are always brave. Let's go, Oswald. He'll lead us to the turtles."
[They reach the condo and see movie Rondo climbing a rope next to where the other turtles and Rondo are still hanging and being menaced by the monsters.]
Oswald "There goes the movie Rondo."
Turtles "Whoa!"
Donatello "It's the guys. They're in trouble."
Movie Rondo "Never fear. I, Rondo, will save you!"
Leonardo "It's another Rondo."
[Movie Rondo climbs onto the roof and faces the monsters.]
Movie Rondo "Ha ha! Taste the bitterness of defeat, alien scum!"
Donatello "Hurry, Oswald, we've gotta save the guys."
[They enter the building. On the roof, movie Rondo picks up a stone bench and throws it at the monsters.]
Movie Rondo "Prepare to face the wrath of an enraged Rondo!"
[The bench hits the monsters, knocking them off the roof. Cars can be heard screeching below and a horn blares. The three turtles climb back onto the roof.]
Leonardo "That guy is good."
[Michelangelo helps the real Rondo onto the roof.]
Rondo "Well, naturally. He learned it all from me."
Movie Rondo "It'll take more than a fall to defeat those evil creatures! I'll go after them, then."
[He leaps over the side.]
Michelangelo "Doesn't the dude ever use an elevator?"
Donatello "Hi, guys. Uh, sorry we missed rescuing you."
Michelangelo "No problemo! That Rondo took care of it."
Leonardo "How many Rondos are there?"
Donatello "Oh, uh, two-- the movie Rondo and the real one."
Rondo "Sure, it's easy for him to be heroic. In the movies Rondo always wins."
Donatello "Shredder plans to unleash all sorts of movie monsters on the city. We've gotta find an antidote to the vitalizer."
Rondo "Wait! Don't leave me. Those creatures might come back."
[In the Technodrome, Krang and Shredder communicate via comlink.]
Krang "Now what is this ingenious plan of yours, Shredder?"
Shredder "It's quite simple, Krang. This is a reel of film clips from a monster movie marathon. With the help of the vitalizer, I shall bring these film monsters to life."
Krang "Splendid, Shredder. The people of Earth will beg to surrender to me if I promise to remove these monsters from their city."
Shredder "But of course we have no way of doing that."
Krang "Well, I know, but just think of all that wonderful begging."
[The turtles, Rondo, and Oswald have returned to the City College lab.]
Donatello "Oh, it's not use. Krang must have erased every bit of data on the vitalizer. We have no way of making an antidote."
Raphael "Swell. That means no way of getting those monsters back into the film."
Rondo "You mean I have to put up with that overbearing movie Rondo?"
[Donatello’s turtlecom beeps.]
Donatello "Donatello here."
April "Hi, guys. I thought you might like to know that Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady have been spotted at the Bijou Theater."
Donatello "Thanks, April. We're on our way. Shredder is gonna bring the monsters from the horror movie screening to life."
Michelangelo "Let's boogey, amigos!"
Oswald "I'll stay and try to remember how I made the vitalizer."
Rondo "I'll, uh, stay and help him."
[A commercial comes on the television.]
Announcer "The monster movie marathon, with your favorite feature creatures starts at midnight at the newly remodeled Bijou Theater. Be there and be scared. Whoohahaha!"
[Shredder and his mutants stand a block away from the theater, looking at the crowds lining the sidewalk.]
Shredder "Fools! They're going to see movies, all right. The premier of the conquest of Earth, starring me! Ha, ha, ha!"
Rocksteady "Gee, boss, can me and Bebop get screen credit too?"
Shredder "Have your agent call me. Now come to the projection booth."
[The turtles race towards the theater in the turtle van.]
Leonardo "If we can't stop Shredder from releasing those movie monsters, we've got to get them back on the screen."
Michelangelo "Mondo notion, dude. Uh, but any suggestions as to how?"
Donatello "Well, we know they can't stand bright lights."
Raphael "Great. I'll file that away in my collection of movie monster fun facts."
[People run screaming out of the movie theater, followed by a group of movie monsters. The turtles pull up in the front of the theater as the monsters reach the curb.]
Michelangelo "Whoa, my favorite horror flick superstar! “Big Slug Invades Burbank”!"
Leonardo "We'll never be able to fight off all these monsters."
Movie Rondo "Never fear! Rondo is here!"
[Movie Rondo starts punching and kicking the movie monsters.]
Donatello "You guys help Rondo. I'll be in the projection booth."
Shredder "Ha ha! The people are in a panic!"
Krang "Wonderful, Shredder! Make more monsters. More!"
Shredder "Wait! Those blasted turtles are here! They're battling the Movie Monsters!"
Krang "The fools! They will be destroyed!"
[Leonardo makes a cross with his fingers to hold the vampire back.]
Leonardo "No! No! Turtle blood is bad for you."
[Michelangelo has trapped a pair of monsters in the ticket booth and is rocking it back and forth.]
Michelangelo "Whoa! Stay in there monster dudes. It's safer-- for me!"
Movie Rondo "Take that, villainous creatures!"
[Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady sit nearby, watching the fight and eating popcorn.]
Shredder "I want to enjoy the end of those four meddlesome reptiles. Wait a minute. There are only three of them."
[Oswald and Rondo enter the theater.]
Bebop "It's that student boy."
Oswald "Donatello, this is the last vial of the vitalizer formula. I destroyed every record of it."
Donatello "Great! Bring the vial up here!"
Shredder "The last vial! We must get it!"
[Donatello chooses a movie reel from a shelf full of reels.]
Donatello "Yeah. This reel will be perfect."
[The Projection Room door is locked. Bebop and Rocksteady struggle to open it.]
Shredder "Break down the door. We must have that vitalizer!"
[Bebop and Rocksteady shoot at the door.]
Oswald "They'll be in here in a second, and they'll get the vitalizer!"
[Donatello places the vial of vitalizer inside the reel canister.]
Donatello "That's what I want them to do. They'll be in for a "reel" surprise."
[Shredder breaks down the door.]
Shredder "Give me the vitalizer, now!"
Rondo "Help! Help me, someone! Help!"
Movie Rondo "I can't turn my back on him for a second."
Leonardo "You can't turn your back on these monsters, either!"
Raphael "Is there gonna be an intermission soon?"
Shredder "Get that vitalizer!"
Oswald "Stay away, you, you—"
[Bebop pushes Oswald down.]
Bebop "Got it, Boss!"
Shredder "Oh, with this vitalizer and film, Earth will soon be overrun with monsters! Krang, open the portal!"
[The portal opens and Shredder and his two mutants hop through. Donatello leads Oswald and Rondo out of the projection room.]
Donatello "Come on. We've gotta stop those monsters!"
Oswald "There's too many of them."
Donatello "But they don't like light. Come on! Help me aim these searchlights at the monsters."
[The searchlights hit the monsters and they run into the theater to escape it.]
Donatello "It's working. The light is weakening them!"
[The monsters all flee into the movie screen. Movie Rondo follows.]
Movie Rondo "A battle awaits. Farewell!"
Michelangelo "Lighten up, Rondude. One day I'll bet you'll be as brave as that movie Rondo."
Turtles "Nah."
Leonardo "But Shredder has the vitalizer and the film. He and Krang can make all the monsters they want."
Donatello "Uh, don't bet on it."
[Inside the Technodrome...]
Krang "For once, you have done well."
Shredder "I have, haven't I? The vitalizer poured onto this film will create an army of monsters that no one can stop!"
Rocksteady "Ooh! Ooh! Let me pour it, Boss."
Bebop "No! I wanna!"
Shredder "Stop, you numskulls!"
[They fight over the vial and drop it onto the film reel.]
Bebop "Whoa! Now see what you've done!"
Rocksteady "Oh, look. It's Cheezy and Sleazy."
[Sleazy slams his mallet down on Bebop’s foot and then chases Cheezy across a computer, smashing it in the process.]
Bebop "Ow!"
Krang "Shredder, you idiot!"
Shredder "Those turtles switched the films!"
Krang "Stop them!"
[Fade out to the sound of the villains grunting and groaning.]
[End Credits]
