List of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episodes
Ring of Fire is an episode of the Vacation in Europe sideseason of the 1987 TV series. As part of that season, it had already aired in many European countries during 1992 before airing in the United States on CBS in 1993.
The Turtles and Splinter arrive in Lisbon, Portugal, just in time for the annual Running of the Bulls. Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo are itching to go outside, but Donatello is finishing up a new olive-based pizza-making machine. Michelangelo decides to go surfing rather than watch the bulls, but when he emerges from the sewers to get some directions, he finds himself being chased by them and washed out to sea.
In Dimension X, Krang has just created a new kind of magnifying heat ray, which he plans to use on Earth's cities. To create a lens for it, he needs a special kind of sand that is found in Lisbon's bullring.
April is doing a news report on a new resort hotel being built in Lisbon when she encounters Shredder, Rocksteady and Bebop. Fortunately Michelangelo is surfing nearby, and though he is able to get the best of the Rock Soldiers, the other Turtles arrive just in time to save him from Rocksteady and Bebop. In the midst of the fight, Shredder loses the key to the Lisbon Cathedral, which he needs in order to set up the heat ray.
Shredder evades the Turtles by driving his stolen vehicles in the parade, and makes his way into the bullfight arena. The Turtles manage to catch up just in time to save Vernon, but Shredder looses a bull on them, forcing them to run for cover while he escapes.
Meanwhile, April discovers Shredder hiding below the bell tower of the cathedral, but she and Irma end up being captured again. He ties the women to one of the giant lenses, which will incinerate them when the sun comes up. At sunrise, they start rocking furiously in Morse code, signaling to the Turtles that Shredder is about to destroy Lisbon with a giant heat ray.
The Turtles arrive - and the women get free - just as the heat ray emerges from the ground and starts blasting at them. Shredder and his mutants depart, leaving the heat ray blasting Lisbon, but Donatello uses a bullhorn, church bells and the Turtle Coms to destroy the device.
Having saved the city, the Turtles are now too tired to enjoy the festival outside.
