Richard Corben (born October 1, 1940 in Anderson, Missouri, died December 2, 2020; died 80 years old) was a veteran creator of adult comics, most famous of which is Den for the magazine Heavy Metal, the same magazine which decades later would become edited by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman. For Mirage Studios, Corben illustrated Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles volume 1 issue #33: Turtles Take Time during the Guest Era. As an homage to Corben, the IDW TMNT characters Frank Corbin and Richard Miller are named jointly after Richard Corben and another veteran comic creator, Frank Miller.
