Revenge of the Fly is a season 7 episode of the 1987-1996 series.
Plot
Vernon is covering the story of a scientist who has created a method of extracting the "genetic essence" of various insects. Since he's stupid enough to advertise exactly where the essences are on TV, the Turtles decide to stake out the building to make sure nobody breaks in.
Down in the Technodrome, Krang is struggling to repair the portal, while Shredder has just found the crystal that will allow him to rebuild a retro-mutagen ray gun. When Krang activates the portal, he accidentally allows Baxter Stockman to fly right out of the Dimensional Limbo with his broken computer friend. Baxter successfully fights Shredder, Krang and the Foot Soldiers, before plugging the computer board into the Technodrome. This allows the computer to take over the Technodrome. Since Baxter now wants revenge on the entire world, the computer decides that they'll steal the insectile genetic samples and some mutagen.
The Turtles are pulled away from their vigil when April informs them that she's trapped on a burning building. Baxter just happens to turn up right afterwards, stealing the samples and a Super-Slusher (firefighting equipment) in order to mutate humans into insects. He turns some firefighters into giant termites, carnival-goers into mantises, and others into scorpions. The computer urges him to go to Channel 6 in order to entrap the Turtles, even though the confused Baxter isn't sure why he even wants revenge on them.
The Turtles arrive at the carnival and engage the giant insects, who are destroying the place. Donatello finds the portable computer, and learns what Baxter is planning.
Meanwhile, Shredder and Krang are trying to break out of a run-down closet that Baxter has stuffed them into, using explosive chemicals.
At Channel 6, the walls are covered in honeycomb, and April's coworkers have been mutated: Burne is a bee, Irma is a moth, Vernon is a spider, and April is soon mutated into a wasp. Baxter flees from the Turtles and accidentally runs into a web Vernon spun outside the station, at the suggestion of Donatello and Raphael. With Baxter in their hands, they decide that the only way to restore all these mutated people is the Retro-Mutagen Ray, and head for the Amphibious Module.
The Turtles arrive at the Technodrome with Baxter, but since the computer is still controlling the Technodrome, they're greeted by armed Foot Soldiers and vicious robots. Donatello successfully destroys the computer just as Shredder, Krang, Rocksteady and Bebop all escape from the closet. Unfortunately, Shredder has the Retro-Mutagen Ray and is determined to use it on the Turtles, which would reduce them to "just plain turtles." But Baxter grabs the ray and flies off to the Dimensional Limbo, with the Turtles in hot pursuit; they manage to wrest the gun from him and escape from the Technodrome.
Leonardo returns the insect mutants to their normal human forms, and destroys the Retro-Mutagen Ray. None of the Channel 6 people remember much about it, but Vernon is suddenly hungry for flies.

Errors
- Krang says he recognizes the location his portal opens as the dimension they sent Baxter to, but in his last appearance ("Landlord of the Flies"), it was Donatello's portal that banished Baxter, not Krang's.
- When Raphael says, "Anyone got a moth-ball?" his words come from Leonardo's mouth.
- The stallholder that turns into a giant scorpion is seen again mutating next to the Ring Toss stall.
- Leonardo loses a sword while fighting Baxter's mutants at the fairground, but has it back a couple of shots later.
- Right after the Spaceship Computer tells Donatello that he controls everything in the Technodrome and the Foot Soldiers attack them, Donatello is no longer holding the Spaceship Computer for one shot.
- When Baxter's Amphibious Module draws up in front of the Genetic Research Lab, the vehicle has only two treads, which are positioned in the middle of its underside.
- Shredder's boots are light grey when Bebop and Rocksteady set up the explosive in the Technodrome's store room.
- Donatello throws his bo at the Spaceship Computer and shuts it down, but his staff doesn't hit actually any of the computer's controls, so it shouldn't shut down.
- When Shredder attacks the Turtles with the Retromutagen Ray gun, both of Leonardo's swords are intact despite having one of them destroyed while fighting the Spaceship Computer.
- When Baxter saves the Turtles from Shredder's Retromutagen Ray gun, the firing end of the gun turns from red to white.
- When the Turtles follow Baxter through the portal, their weapons have vanished from their shells.
- When Leonardo draws his sword to destroy the Retromutagen Ray gun, Donatello is seen with Raphael's colors.
- The inside of the closet door that the Turtles throw Shredder into is originally colored green, but turns to grey when Shredder pounds on it.
- The Retro-Mutagen Ray is very visibly the same mutagen gun that Baxter had in Bye, Bye, Fly. It even has the dial that allows people to be mutated into different animals.
- The mutations caused by Baxter are continuously referred to as insects, but scorpions and spiders are arachnids.
