Synopsis[]
It’s midnight and the Turtles, in the Party Wagon, are chasing the Purple Dragons, on their motorcycles, at high speeds through the middle of the city. The Purple Dragons have stolen a power source that the Turtles are determined to recover. As the Turtles draw near their quarry, they hear an abrupt banging that makes them believe they are being shot at, but it’s actually the Party Wagon backfiring.
Leonardo asks what’s wrong, but Donatello doesn’t know, other than the Party Wagon is losing power. The Purple Dragons race away as the Turtles stand outside of their van. Don can’t understand what went wrong, as he gave the vehicle a tune-up just that morning. Raphael is angry that they lost the Dragons and in a fit, kicks the Party Wagon, shouting that it’s a rusty hunk of junk.
The Party Wagon suddenly rears up on its back wheels, engine roaring. Michelangelo says that he thinks Raph made it mad. Raph rants that they’ve fought mutated weeds, frogs and even pizza, but he is not fighting their own van. The van’s soda cannon fires, hitting Raph straight on and knocking him backwards. Leo wants to know how they fight a van as it starts chasing Don and Mikey.
Raph assumes that another of Donnie’s crazy experiments has gone gonzo, but Don swears he only performed basic repairs, a tune-up and changed the muffler. Crazed laughter erupts from the van’s radio and it rams part of a wall as it chases the Turtles into an alley. They flee onto a fire escape and Don says that the laughter sounds familiar. He asks Mikey where he got the muffler that Don asked be handed to him that morning.
Mikey replies that he got it off the shelf labeled “Do not touch under any circumstances!”. Don turns on him, wanting to know why he thinks the shelf was labeled that way and Mikey says because he’s a giant fun-killer. Don barks at him that the muffler was there for research and that it came from the wreckage of Speed Demon. Leo asks if he’s talking about the demonic, mutated car that almost killed them all and Don answers in the affirmative. Raph still wants to know how to fight a demonically possessed van. Leo reminds them that the first time they fought Speed Demon, they rammed him off a cliff and it blew up. Don requests they not do that again because he just gave the Wagon a new coat of paint.
Raph decides to stop the van by giving it four flat tires and throws shuriken, but the Party Wagon zips from side to side to avoid them. The van then rams the light post Leo is clinging to, causing him to lose his grip and fall. He flips to the ground to stand next to Raph as the van bears down on him. Intent on saving Raph, Leo steps into the van’s path and is quickly swallowed by the giant mouth that appears on the front grill.
Mikey shouts that the van swallowed their brother, but Don says it’s worse than that. Leo has been possessed! A giant possessed, demonic looking Leo bursts through the roof of the van and yells “King of the road, baby!” The van begins driving erratically, twisting and turning as it chases the other Turtles. Mikey tries talking to Leo, but Don tells him not to waste his breath because it isn’t Leo anymore, it’s Speed Demon.
Raph wants to know what to do now, because they can’t blow up the van with Leo inside. They duck behind a dumpster as the van’s flamethrower tries burning them. Don tells them he has an idea and tells Raph and Mikey to disable the Party Wagon’s weapons. Raph asks what he’s going to be doing while they’re getting their faces torched. Before he can answer, the van launches a stink bomb at them. Don tells his brothers to hold their breath and that they can use the stink smoke for cover.
Mikey and Raph leap onto the van and grab handholds. The start ripping various weapons off of the van. Once Raph removes the last of the cannons, he wants to know where Don is because it’s about time for his big idea. He spots Don standing directly in the van’s path. Speed Demon calls Don street pizza and speeds up to run over the genius Turtle.
Both Raph and Mikey are sure that Don is a goner, until they hear his voice coming from beneath the Party Wagon. Donatello is clinging to the undercarriage and tells them what he did was the quickest way underneath the Party Wagon. Using his bō, Don begins working to pry the possessed muffler off of the van.
Don pops the muffler off and Leo turns back to normal, just in time to slam on the brakes before they hit a wall – will Raph clinging to the front of the van. Don announces that he’s going to put the muffler somewhere safe so that no one tries attaching it to a car again, and Mikey says he should put a sign on it.
Then Mikey adds that he can’t wait to go home for a warm bath and some pizza, but Leo reminds him that they were chasing the Purple Dragons. Leo suggests they find the Dragons and get that power source back fast - - before the police pull them over for driving without a muffler.
