The Rat King first appears as a boss exclusive to the Super NES version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time where he rode the Footski, which was armed to the teeth with missiles and spiked buoys. An icon conveniently points out to the player the Footski's weak point. In the U.S. manual to the SNES game, he is identified simply as "The Rat."
The Rat King returns in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters, again, exclusive to the Super NES version. He functions as a sub-boss before Karai, and is unlockable for play with a code. Rat King is much more beefy in this game, and relies on a host of professional wrestling moves to fell the opponent, including grapples and elbow drops. His Super Move involves him surrounding himself with a loose sphere of electricity.
Rat King is once again an opponent in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Madness. His design is restored to an approximation of his original appearance, albeit in a super-deformed/"chibi" style. Rat King was added to the game's playable roster in Season 5.
The Rat King serves as the boss of the fifth stage of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, "King of the Spill." When the head of Krang's Android Body falls into the sewers, the Rat King's rats seize it and bring it to him. In battle, he can grab an opponent, swing them around rapidly, and fling them across the room he's fought in. He will also jump onto the wrecked Footski from Turtles In Time and play his flute, summoning a mob of rats to swarm the players, some of which will act like Mousers and bite the players, forcing them to shake themselves free.
