The Purple Dragons, (or Purple Dragon Gang), are a New York City street gang. The Purple Dragon Gang is from the Lower East Side in New York City. They are the toughest gang on the East Side. They often are led by Hun and have some connection to the Shredder and the Foot Clan, though not always. They are particularly known for their salient transition icon, the image of a purple dragon, which they wear as either a tattoo or on their clothes. They mostly commit robberies, extortion, and intimidation.

In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Panini) comics continuity, only three men are shown to be members of the Purple Dragons.

History[]

Takeout[]

The Purple Dragons set fire to an electronics store, distracting the Turtles who are trying to get home with their pizza takeout. Their scheme is foiled by the Turtles, who defeat them and toss them into a dumpster.

April's Fools[]

The Purple Dragons encounter April O'Neil climbing out of a dumpster where she landed after a fight with the Kraang. Speaking for the group, Fong announces they will take her to Shredder, but she tells him about the mutagen in the back of a Kraang van. Believing that Shredder will pay handsomely for the mutagen, the Purple Dragons leave April and engage the Kraang in order to steal the van.

Secret Weapon X[]

Sid and Tsoi are preparing to attack the Turtles when they overhear them talking about a new 'secret weapon'. Worried that this weapon could prove extremely destructive, they pass the story on to Hun. The story grows until it finally reaches the Shredder, who declares that the weapon shall be his. He gathers a small army, which includes all three of the Purple Dragons, and goes out to confront the Turtles. They all quickly learn that playing the 'telephone game' usually means something innocuous becomes very exaggerated.
