Years ago, a New York City street gang known as the Purple Dragons was led by a man named Arnold Jones, who went by the street name "Attila the Hun", or just Hun for short.
After becoming a father and growing older, Hun and his ilk retired to pave the way for a new generation of Dragons. But when his son Casey was murdered at the hands of the ninja crime boss Oroku Saki, a drunken Hun vowed vengeance. He gathered his drinking buddies at the Skara Brae, including the bar's owner and his old Dragon lieutenant Brooklyn Bridge, and some of the current Dragons, to storm Foot headquarters and extract the pound of flesh Jones felt he was owed.
When the Dragons arrived, the compound was already under siege by a pair of mutants, Old Hob and Slash, who were helping Splinter attempt to free the Ninja Turtles from Kitsune's mind control.
While the Dragons and Slash and Hob battled the Foot Clan, Splinter was fighting Kitsune on the astral plane. With assistance from the spirit of his past-life wife Tang Shen, Splinter defeated and killed Kitsune, restoring the Turtles to their true selves. With Shredder distracted by Kitsune's death, Hun got the drop on Saki and shot him in the face with a shotgun, before succumbing to his own injuries. All of the known members of the Purple Dragons were killed in the fight, although by virtue of Hun killing Shredder, their mission was completed.
