The Purple Dragons, (or Purple Dragon Gang), are a New York City street gang. The Purple Dragon Gang is from the Lower East Side in New York City. They are the toughest gang on the East Side. They often are led by Hun and have some connection to the Shredder and the Foot Clan, though not always. They are particularly known for their salient transition icon, the image of a purple dragon, which they wear as either a tattoo or on their clothes. They mostly commit robberies, extortion, and intimidation.
In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Amazing Adventures comics continuity, only three men, other than Hun, are shown to be members of the Purple Dragons. This version of the Purple Dragons is branched off from their original version in the 2012 TV series. Their history before the events of the Amazing Adventures comics is the same as that of their animated version.
History[]
The Tournament[]
While out on a nightly patrol, the Turtles come upon the Purple Dragons terrorizing the manager of the Emporium Pizza & Arcade. The Dragons are shaking the manager down for "rent" because the emporium is in what they refer to as their territory. Rather than quickly jumping into a fight though, Leonardo challenges them to a gaming tournament, taking to heart something Splinter told them before they left the lair.
You Win Some, You Shoe Some![]
After Casey Jones sings the praises of a new pair of shoes, Donatello designs shoes for the Turtles. Then Casey and the Turtles head out for a nightly patrol. It isn't long before the group discovers Hun, Fong, Tsoi and Sid breaking into and robbing a shoe store.
