The Punk Frogs are a team of four mutant frogs who are allies of the Ninja Turtles. They debuted in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Madness, with Genghis and Napoleon at launch, and Attila and Rasputin following up as Season 6 pass characters.
History[]
Like their 1987 animated series counterparts, the frogs were mutated by The Shredder in an effort to devise a team of his own that were like the Turtles. He trained and educated them, and named them after his favorite historical "villains". However, Shredder's cruelty and their own good nature made them realize they were on the wrong side, and they defected against their master.
Some time later, Raphael performs a concert with his band, with the other Turtles and the Punk Frogs in attendance. Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady arrive to the beach on jetskis and throw a net over the Frogs. They only nab Napoleon and Genghis, leaving Rasputin and Attila to chase after them.
They also appear in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge as hostages that must be saved along the game levels. After rescuing all four frogs, you can bring them disgusting bugs you collect in the other levels for bonus points. In the game’s ending, Vernon Fenwick attributes the saving of the Statue of Liberty to them instead of the Ninja Turtles.
