Oroku Sancho was the ancestor of Oroku Saki as seen in the 1987 TV Series episode, "The Legend of Koji". He was a powerful samurai lord in ancient Japan, who was believed to be fearful and ruthless. Like all other samurai at that time, Sancho was in charge of a large army who were fatefully loyal to him, but in time, it was revealed that he was a weak and scared coward. That cost Sancho's former loyal army to desert from him and instead swear loyalty to Splinter's ancestor, Hamato Koji so that he would be able to found the organization that later would be known as the Foot Clan.
