Oroku Saki, is a character appearing in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto crossover comics.
History[]
As told by Splinter to Team 7. Oroku Saki was a troubled boy reared in Big Apple Village's criminal underworld. He came to the dojo of Splinter's master, Hamato Yoshi, claiming to seek a new path. Yoshi had known hardship. He tried to help the promising young martial artist, but Saki's cruelty was clear. He sought only the power he might obtain through Yoshi's technique. Power Yoshi had kept concealed in a family scroll, which Saki handily stole before leaving the dojo and Yoshi to suffer destruction. Unknown to Saki, Splinter, Yoshi's beloved pet rat, managed to escape the destruction, subsequently found the Turtles exposed to mutagen and raised them. Once they became teenagers, they began to seek answers in the world above. At every turn, the mutant family ran afoul of the Foot Clan, and eventually its leader. The man who now rules Big Apple Village's underworld. The man who tore Splinter's life to shreds... Oroku Saki, now known as Shredder.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto issue 2
The sole detail Splinter knew little about Oroku Saki's life was the future Shredder was abandoned at the streets as a baby. It's unclear who his family was and whether he indeed taken in to a foster care for a time, only that Saki later grew a lonely childhood as a street child within slums of Big Apple Village. While his rough upbringing made him a survivor, it also instilled in him the lust of power, which further exacerbated by lack of positive social influence in his life hence dismissal to the concepts of friendship, loyalty, and love.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto issue 4
At some point, Shredder became acquainted with Stockman, a disgraced scientist who sought to gain recognition from inventing 'ooze', the (initially) theoretical mutagenic compound which induce bio-mutations that opened the possibility of creating innately powerful supersoldiers possessing the fiercest traits of humans and animals. Intrigued by his project, Shredder provided him necessary funding and materials. This was how Shredder's anthropomorphic artic fox Alopex came to be, and unknown to them, Splinter and the Turtles themselves (the mutagen which transformed them was the same one Stockman developed). By the time Stockman realized the actual reason Shredder hired him and subsequently sought April's aid, he already sent his ninjas to silence him. April would've perished in the struggle had it not for Splinter and the Turtles' interference.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto issue 2
Eventually, by the time the Turtles and Splinter befriended Team 7 from Hidden Leaf Village, Shredder learned about the location of his enemies' lair thanks to Alopex and decided that the time has come from him and his forces to strike. The ensuing one-sided skirmish was made easier by Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello went to Big Apple Village to buy everyone some pizza, thus leaving Splinter and April outnumbered.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto issue 2

Oroku Saki was hardened by his rough and lonely childhood in slums of Big Apple Village. Unfortunately, the feeling of helplessness and powerlessness plaguing him throughout his early life imparted Saki with the desire to seek out and obtain ultimate power, shaping him into the ruthless and power hungry leader of Foot Clan known as The Shredder. The same Social Darwinist viewpoints saw him dismissive with the idea of forming meaningful ties with the others, having no issue in disposing those who no longer useful to his plans, and indifferent with the prospect of his loyal Foot Ninjas having their sanity deteriorated as the side effect of Ooze-induced mutation which increased their strengths.
Nevertheless, The Shredder proved himself to be a capable leader, as he has followers who answer to him unquestioningly, Alopex included up until she proved no longer useful for him.
