In the IDW continuity, Lord Ochi was a nobleman in feudal Japan. At some point he murdered the son of the merchant Kaneko, and Kaneko hired the Foot Clan to kill Ochi as revenge. Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki were both sent to carry out the contract.
However, Yoshi made the mistake of entering Ochi's room without checking to make sure he was alone, and discovered Ochi in the presence of two retainers. After his men failed to kill Yoshi, Ochi slashed him across the back and engaged him in a deadly swordfight, which ultimately resulted in the old man's death.
