This is a transcript for Notes from the Underground, Part 2, the fourteenth episode of season 1 of TMNT (2003 series).

	VOICE-OVER INTRO
Donatello	My name is Donatello, and as a turtle of science, I like to investigate things. But I never thought my study of the strange crystals we found in our lair would awaken creatures from the underground, lead us on a search deep below the Earth, or take us to an abandoned Foot Genetic Lab where terrible things were done in the name of the Shredder.
Foot Scientist	There are some things
Foot Scientist/ Michelangelo	man was never meant to tamper with.
Michelangelo	That’s the one line in a monster movie you don’t want to hear!
Donatello	As a turtle of science, you wouldn't think i'm the type to believe in monsters but you be wrong, dead wrong.

{Opening sequence; title song}

	The episode continues underground as the monsters gets closer to the turtles as they walk backwards into the lab.
Michelangelo	Ah, I think I speak for all of us when I say "Zonks!".
	The turtles threw their backpack aside while the blue monster walks closer and sprays acid at the turtles disseminating the floor.
Raphael	That's it As the turtles grab their weapons.
Michelangelo	OK, you guys take the three on the left.
Raphael	There ARE only three.
Michelangelo	there's for each for you and I'll be odd turtle out.
Raphael	you're telling me.
	the red monster throws an unit at the turtles but miss. Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello engage the monsters while Michelangelo tip-toes in the lab. Donatello engages the red monster, Raphael engages the stone monster and Leonardo fights the blue monster, Raphael helps Donatello while the stone monster climbs and digs itself inside into ceiling for a sneak attack.
Raphael & Donatello	WOW!.
	the stone monster digs out for the sneak attack.
Raphael	Micky!
	Raphael intercepts the stone monster's attack and succeeds
Raphael	Watch your back you oddball!
Michelangelo	You just called odd didn't you?
	the stone monster jumps on Raphael.
Michelangelo	(To himself)I'm not odd, I'm eccentric. (To Donatello) Raph thinks I'm odd.
Donatello	You're just being sensitive.
Michelangelo	sensitive? If there's one thing I hate, its when people call me sensitive!
	The turtles continue to fight the monsters.
Michelangelo	Hey, I know these monsters are viscous abominations but guys we're not holding our own out there, now lets dig deep.
	As Leonardo continues to fight the blue monster, it sprays acid onto the glass silos cursing them to crack.
Blue monster	You will take no more of us!!
Leonardo	We're not here to take anybody.
	as the silos fall and are about to land on to the Blue monster.
Leonardo	Look out (as he jumps in saves the monster)
Leonardo	Why have you attacked us?
	The blue monster seems puzzled then the red monster attacks Leonardo
Leonardo	You know something Micky? They're thinking we're somebody else.
Michelangelo	Ah man that's just great, we're getting our shells sh-elacted at someone elses fight?
Donatello	Then I ??? get the shell outta here.
Raphael	Run away, that ain't my style.
Leonardo	Call it a tactical retreat lets move.
Donatello	We're leaving. (as he pushes a button with his Bo-staff which opens a sealed door)
	As the turtles head down the corridor the monsters begin to follow.
Raphael	Tactical retreat, I can live with that.
	The turtles enter another room, Donatello tries to open the door at the end but won't open.
Donatello	(he grunts) Its sealed tight.
	As the monsters get closer, the turtles close the vault door but the monsters start damaging it.
Michelangelo	Somebody gonna answer that?
	The red monster bursts the door as the stone monster emerges from the floor and about to attack the turtles.
Blue monster	NO!
Raphael	Say the word bro.
Leonardo	Easy Guys, it's ok.
Blue monster	(it sniffs at the turtles) Who are you?
Leonardo	Not who you think we are.
Blue monster	Then why do you carry THOSE?(It points at Doni's bad containing the crystals.
Leonardo	Whoa! wait a minutes! We found these crystals in a cavern where staying that's all.
Raphael	Yeah and just what business it of yours anyway?
Blue monster	(grunts) Those crystals are the embodiment of evil, why have you come here?
Michelangelo	Cause one of you ogres went sniffing around our place looking for trouble so we're here to(Don covers Micky's mouth)
Donatello	To just look for some answers, that's all.
Leonardo	I'm Leonardo and these are my brothers: Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo.
Blue monster	We were drawn to your habitat, When your crystals were activated.
Donatello	Gee! Wonder who coulda done that.
Blue monster	Their energy is a sign of danger to us so we considered you dangerous, thou we usually sense them coming from deeper below .
Donatello	BELOW? you mean there's more of these crystals down there? We just like to find out where they came from that's all and maybe
Blue monster	(interrupting Donatello) NO! it is a forbidden place, something unspeakable dwells there amidst the crystals, There are some things man was never meant to tamper with.
	Donatello covers Michelangelo's mouth from saying something.
Blue monster	He IS an odd one.
	The turtles and the monsters walk back to the genetics lab.
Michelangelo	I don't trust these guys.
Raphael	Why?
Michelangelo	Try the fact that they're monsters.
Donatello	Yeah well, to some people so are WE.
	Michelangelo rubs his head
Leonardo	I can’t believe that shredder had you genetically altered as diggers just to search down here for some "enemy".
Blue monster	Yes, and he did so without remorse, we forced against our will to do his bidding.
Leonardo	He snatched you at random from where?
Blue monster	the streets, our offices, our homes anywhere shadow can conceal a foot soldier. We don't know why we were chosen.
Leonardo	What's your name?
Blue monster	I am Quarry of tunnel squad 3 the others are Stonebiter and Razorfist.
Leonardo	No not what the foot called you, your real name.
Quarry	s. . .si, my memory is (grunts) the experiments performed on us has stripped us of who we are.
Leonardo	Yes we saw the video log entries.
Raphael	Well don't worry about shredder he got his doom.
Michelangelo	Yeah, he made the mistake of messing with the ninja turtles, there's a lesson to be learned that (laughs) if you know what I mean.
	The alarm goes off and they hear monster roars
Quarry	Oh no, the others they triped an alarm at the east delta tunnel, hurry, we must activate the energy shield.
	Quarry tries to activate the shield but the crystal loses its glow
Quarry	(It tries and again but to no avail) No No
Michelangelo	Don't do a "No No", I hate "No No"s.
Quarry	It's no good, the shield will NOT activate we have power no force field and they're heading this way.
Raphael	Ah yeah, we kinda mentioned force field.
Michelangelo	And Raph kinda broke.
	They hear monster roars again
Leonardo	What is out there?
Quarry	The others
Leonardo	Other What?
Quarry	Test subjects like us, they endlessly prowl the tunnels.
Leonardo	Why do have to keep them out?
Quarry	(Quarry breaks off a monitor and crabs the cables inside) Because they attack us they're violent, uncontrollable their minds have deteriorated.
Leonardo	From the genetic mutation?
Quarry	Yes
Leonardo	Then what about you three?
Quarry	Madness looms in our future as well.
	They their roars again and the Turtles prepare to fight.
Quarry	Weapons will do no good, without the force field we won't stand a chance.
	Then the screen turns black for a break

	The monsters get closer to the lab.
Quarry	They'll be on us in minutes.
Michelangelo	You know you're kinda freaking me out here, are you always such a naysayer?
	Donatello picks up the crystal but then it crumbles.
Donatello	Huh"? is that the crystals are? power sauces?
Quarry	Yes but that was our only one, when we found it in the catacombs we paid dearly for it.
Leonardo	Well, what about one of ours?
Quarry	They're too small, would not last.
Donatello	It only has to last until they give up and move on. (He places the crystal but it doesn't glow up, not activating the force field) Come on
	Stonebiter, Razorfist and Raphael closes the heavy door
Quarry	There is no spark.
Donatello	(He taps the crystal with another to activate but to no a veal) For some reason they won’t just power up maybe the connections to these connect nods were charged,
	Quarry breaks offs another screen and looks in at the circuitry.
Michelangelo	Or maybe you got the thing upside down.
Donatello	It is NOT upside down Micky.
	The other underground monsters approach the door and start trying to get in, one of the monsters' claws gets makes a scratch.
Donatello	OK let's try it again.
	The other underground monsters knock the doors down started walking into lab. (First a Cyclops Monster then an Insectoid Monster, Spider Monster and King Nail.) Micky looks at Don then he turns the crystal vertically places it the generator and actives.
Donatello	It's working. (As the computer turns on and activates the force field)
	The force field shields the turtles and the monsters inside and it expands wider pushing the other monsters back into the tunnels. The monsters to break through but to no avail.
Michelangelo	Don't think I didn't see that Donny, It WAS upside-down.
Quarry	Its overloading.
Quarry	They're leaving.
	The monsters give up and go back into the tunnels.
Quarry	But tomorrow they'll be back, they always come back.
Leonardo	Then you beta have a bigger crystal.
Quarry	We will not survive another journey to the forbidden-zone.
Michelangelo	What makes the place so forbidden?
Quarry	The ancient catacombs stretch for miles, we were forced to explore it, many of us never returned.
Michelangelo	Ah, maybe they got lost?
Quarry	They were taken by a ghostly entity, there is never any sign of a struggle, they're just gone.
