"Rumors rise like stink from a dead pig."
"You certainly can turn a phrase, my Lord."
— Norinaga and Walker

Lord Norinaga was a Japanese daimyō in the early fifteenth century and is one of the primary antagonists along with Walker in the third film of the live-action film series. He is at war with the peasant rebellion led by Mitsu. He established a trade partnership with the English gun merchant Walker. He is also the father of Kenshin, whom he called a disgrace for his disobedience (and at one point almost came down hard on his son for calling him a disgrace for his "unjust war" in front of his own people). Despite this, he really does care for his son, as shown when he believed April is a witch and "spirited away" Kenshin. However, he doesn't approve of his son's relationship with Mitsu for some reason, thus the reason Norinaga is at war with her.

At one point, he believed Mitsu has kidnapped Kenshin to spite him. He doesn't believe she had nothing to do with his son's disappearance, but was surprised when she revealed that Walker has the Time Scepter for himself. Later, he and Mitsu nearly dueled to the death (with one of them being the one to die with honor), until Michelangelo stopped them.

Norinaga was eventually defeated in battle after a sword fight with Leonardo, ending with Norinaga's defeat with the ceremonial bell falling, trapping him inside. One of Walker's cannon was shot making the bell to shatter and causing Norinaga's humiliation amongst his own people.

At the end, Norinaga is happy to have Kenshin returned to him, and has come to accept his son's relationship with Mitsu.

Action figures[]
