Nobody

Nobody in the Mirage comics.

Nobody first appears in the story Nobody's Fool (Tales of TMNT vol.1 #2), where the Turtles stumble upon him in Northampton, where he is chasing after arms dealers. When the Turtles show themselves to be suspicious of his motives, he shows them his police badge, winning their trust. After they have taken down the arms ring and go separate ways, Donatello nick-names him "Nobody" because he never told them his name. Nobody met the Turtles a second time when confronting a gang out to kill an old man who had slain one of their members in self-defense (Tales of the TMNT #7).

Later on, as Casey Jones descends into misery following his accidentally killing a simple purse snatcher, Nobody brings him back to his senses. (TMNT Vol. 1, #48 & 49) Nobody later started monitoring Casey Jones’ abandoned Northampton residence when reports began coming in of activity (radio dispatch refers to him as Officer Longer, revealing his real last name). Finding the alleged intruder to be Donatello, the two of them fought in a confused scuffle (TMNT Vol. 2, #3 & 4) He later aids the Turtles against a mutant monster, but is lost in action and presumed dead when he is impaled through the chest by one of its appendages and pulled into its mouth. (TMNT vol. 2 #12) However, Nobody returns to help Casey Jones and a mutated Raphael, this time with a white costume and a set of super powers whose origins remain unexplained (Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #60; July, 2009).

2003 Series

Nobody was once a New York cop, who was on the verge of exposing Ruffington as a arms dealer to the black market. But Ruffington claimed he was harassing him and the commissioner reassigned him to archive duty. Angered at the loss of his life and his honor, Nobody strove to expose Ruffington.

In the aftermath of the Triceraton invasion, Nobody was on to Ruffington. While chasing one of Ruffington's trucks, he saved Leonardo and Michelangelo from being run over. Subsequently, they worked together to investigate Ruffington, who was in league with the Shredder by modifying Triceraton weaponry for the Foot Clan. Nobody fought Ruffington and managed to get him handcuffed, just as the police arrived. [1]

Later with the help of the Turtles in "Still Nobody," Nobody broke up the street gang "The Turks"[2]

The Lost Episodes

Nobody joined the Justice Force. [3] He was also part of the final attack on the Tengu Shredder in Enter the Dragons.

Fast Forward

Nobody appears in the episode The Journal, where he and the other Justice Force members were (supposedly) turned into toddlers by none other than Michelangelo.

Back to the Sewer

He shows up in the episodes Super Power Struggle and Wedding Bells and Bytes. Nobody and the Justice Force were invited guests at the wedding of April and Casey. While they arrived late to the ceremony, they came just in time to save the other guests from an attack by the Cyber Shredder and the Foot Clan.[4]

Notes

  • The name is possibly a reference to Homer's Odyssey. In it the hero Odysseus tells the Cyclops his name is "Nobody". So when he blinds the monster and it's friends asked him who did it, all the Cyclops could answer was "Nobody".
