Summary[]

A tour boat cruises alongside Niagara Falls as a guide speaks about the falls. Everyone aboard the boat is wearing yellow raincoats to keep from getting soaked. A woman with a camera steps back to get as much of the falls into the shot as possible and steps on someone’s toes. When he yells, she turns to apologize – and then screams upon seeing the person is actually a mutant warthog. The woman calls for her husband, believing that she’s seeing things. Shredder, decked out in a yellow raincoat, pops Bebop on the head for allowing himself to be seen.

Shredder admonishes both Bebop and Rocksteady, telling them that no one must know they’ve left New York on a top secret mission. Little do they know, but earlier, in the city, April had been driving past an alley in the Channel 6 newsvan and had spotted the trio. She followed them aboard the boat and figures they are up to some new scam. Using her Turtlecom, April places a call to the Turtles.

The Turtles are eating pizza in their sewer lair when they hear April’s voice coming from the Turtlecom. Michaelangelo quickly answers her call, but April only manages to tell him she followed Shredder to Niagara Falls. Before she can continue, Shredder places a hand over her mouth and Bebop stomps on the fallen Turtlecom. Mikey tells the others that the signal went dead, so Leonardo decides they need to haul shell to Niagara Falls immediately.

In the Turtle Blimp, the green team heads for Niagara Falls. Over the parking lot of the tour agency, Leo, Raphael and Mikey climb down a rope. Leo tells Donatello to tie down the blimp and then join them as quickly as possible. Wearing their hats and trench coats, they approach the tour boat and Leo asks if they have room for a few more. The captain says they do, but they have to put on raincoats. They do so and climb aboard. The ‘Spray Princess shoves off and Don arrives just in time to leap aboard.

The Turtles begin to mingle with the tourists. Don takes pictures of the sights and says he can’t wait to show them to Master Splinter. Meanwhile, the other Turtles are trying to locate April and Shredder. The Captain is in the middle of giving his tour speech when he calls out that someone’s about to go over the Falls in a barrel. When the Turtles look up, they see that it’s April and she’s shouting for help. All four Turtles leap overboard to rescue her, but Don, who has a rucksack with him, can’t keep up. Leo tells him to stay on the surface while the rest of the try to reach April.

Ditching their raincoats, the Turtles dive below the water’s surface and soon locate April, who is unconscious. They pull her out of the barrel and Raph uses his sai to cut the ropes that are binding her. Speed swimming to the surface, they all suck in air and then Leo urges them to swim for an area behind the Falls. The Turtles carry April to shore, where Don is waiting. They lean over April, concerned that she might be a goner, but she wakes up. April explains how Shredder caught her and then he and his mutants tossed her over the Falls.

When Leo asks what the trio is up to, April says they’re after a fortune in gold bars. Years ago, a secret cargo plan crash landed in the Falls. The aircraft and the stolen gold aboard sank, but Shredder has discovered the location. The Turtles vow to stop him. When Leo is worried about the challenges of going underwater, Don shows them what he’s been carrying around in the rucksack. It is the Turtles’ diving equipment. They don the gear and dive into the water again.

Minutes later the Turtles approach the bottom of the river and see that it’s covered with debris. Soon however, they see the sunken aircraft as well as Bebop and Rocksteady. The two mutants, wearing diving gear, are stuffing gold bars into nets attached to a hook and chain. They spot the Turtles swimming towards them and Bebop urges a retreat. On the surface, Shredder is waiting in a boat and notices a large amount of bubbles coming up, far more than should be there.

From below, the chain is tugged three times, which signals Shredder that everything’s okay. He starts the winch, gloating about how the gold is going to go towards building a Footbot army. To his dismay, rather than gold, the net arrives carrying the Turtles, who are sitting on Bebop and Rocksteady. Leo shreds the net with his katana and the Turtles come aboard. Shredder races for the controls and starts the engine. The boat leaps forward, nearly throwing them over the side and Shredder explains that the craft is fitted with a powerboat’s engine.

Donatello immediately launches his bō and it smashes the controls. Angry, Shredder leaps at the Turtles, but at the last minute, they move aside and he lands face first on the boat’s deck. Unfortunately, the boat is headed for some rocks and with the controls jammed, the Turtles leap into the water, making certain that Shredder and his two mutants are safely off the boat as well.

The boat hits the rocks and explodes. April arrives in a rowboat to pick up the Turtles. Elsewhere, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady swim for the shoreline without their loot. Once more in the Turtle Blimp over the Falls, the Turtles wonder what will happen to the gold. They see it scattered over the shore as the tour boat heads that direction and the tourists spot the gold as well. Leo notes that the tourists are about to get wealthy. Mike says better them than Shredder and his Niagara Fools. Leo groans and tells Mikey that was one of his worst jokes yet.
