The New York State Supreme Court Building is located in Manhattan in New York City. The Courthouse first opened its doors in 1927. The building houses the Supreme Court and the Office of the County Clerk. It was designated a City Landmark in 1966.
In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series, the Courthouse is where the offices of Hieronymus Hale are located. In The Law of the Foot, Hale climbs the steps of the courthouse while protestors rage against him. Hale's personal guards, the Foot Patrol, receive the order to disperse the mob and proceed to do so, using excessive force.
In Fighting Our Way To Nowhere, Donatello climbs the stairs of the Courthouse building and calls out that he wishes to confess. He is surrounded by Foot Patrolmen as he reveals himself to be a mutant.
Standing in the mouth of an alley across from the Courthouse in The Way of the Rotted Rat, April O'Neil informs the Foot Patrolmen who accost her that standing in front of D.A. Hale is exactly why she is there. April, much to the Patrolmen's horror, is accompanied by thousands of rats.
