History[]
In The Box of Ptah, April O'Neil does an on location news report from the New York Museum of Science and History. April interviews Dr. Aida Hosny regarding a new artifact which has yet to be unveiled. Later, in her office in the museum, Dr. Hosny is visited by Mona Lisa. Dr. Hosny accepts Mona Lisa's offer to help and explains that the donated artifact is mysteriously dis-assembled every night. Mona Lisa decides to stand guard and places a call to Raphael to ask for his help. He goes to the museum to stand guard with her. There they meet a mummy named Bakari who tells the story of how he and a scientist named Ptah were mutated. Bakari has been taking the artifact apart to prevent Ptah from escaping, but this night he is too late.
The story continues in That's a Wrap for Ptah. Another one of Ptah's devices gives him limited control over nonliving matter. Ptah goes through the museum bringing displays, such as dinosaur skeletons, to life. Mona Lisa tells Raphael and Bakari that they need to get Ptah outside before even more irreplaceable objects are destroyed. Bakari agrees and turns to goad Ptah, who has a short temper. Ptah smashes a huge hole in an exterior wall of the museum and chases the trio outside. With the help of the other three Turtles, they manage to defeat Ptah. A week later, the museum is under repairs and Bakari has become a new display, entertaining visitors as the "Living Mummy".
