Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
Solicit[]
With the possibility existing that they might never get home, the Turtles take up residence at Wayne Manor. Everyone seems to be adapting except for Raphael, who still can't understand why his friends all trust this Bat-person. So Batman takes the skeptical Turtle on a trip down Crime Alley to tell Raph what led him to don the cape and cowl in the first place.

Summary[]
At Arkham Asylum, Doctor Zaheer is trying to get answers from one of the twenty captured Foot ninjas, but is getting nowhere. As she leaves, the Joker taunts her, and she orders his medication to be doubled.
At Wayne Manor, the Turtles are beginning to wear on Alfred's nerves, as they ordered a dozen pizzas and Michelangelo is skateboarding indoors. Down in the Batcave, Leonardo and Batman are sparring, and seem to be equally matched in martial arts skill. Donatello is examining Batman's holorecordings, and a battered Raphael is stewing. As the Turtles begin eating pizza, Michelangelo manages to wheedle Batman into trying a slice.
Raphael finally blows up and tears his sling in half, upset that they're all dying and nobody seems to be taking it seriously. He accuses Batman of being a wealthy "thrill-seeker" who "puts on a costume and punches bad guys because it seems like fun," and storms out of the Batcave, declaring that he's going to find a way to get them home.
Elsewhere, Shredder tells Ra's al Ghul that before he died, Dr. Khan noticed an anomaly coming from the other dimension. Now the League of Shadows scientists have shown him what the transmission is, and he's allowing it to be received. They open a dimensional portal, and the remaining Foot ninjas are battered by a golf club and a hockey stick. It's Casey Jones, with several canisters of mutagen on his person.
Raphael walks despondently out in the rain when the Batmobile comes up, and Batman appeals to him to come along and try to understand something. Reluctantly, Raphael gets inside.
Inside the Batcave, the alarms go off as Batman's equipment detects a trans-dimensional surge. The other three Turtles prepare to head out to the city, in another one of the Batmobiles (despite Alfred's insistence against it).
Batman leads Raphael to Crime Alley, and tells him the story of how his parents died. He explains that he worked tirelessly to become Batman so that other families wouldn't be hurt the way his was, and that in Splinter and the Turtles he sees a family being ripped apart by "impossible science and dark intent." So he's determined to help them, and he wants Raphael's assistance. Alfred tips him off about the Turtles heading after the trans-dimensional reading, and the two leave to join them.
The Turtles burst through a wall and find a beaten-up Casey, who tells them that Shredder and Ra's al Ghul just took five canisters of mutagen from him. Even worse, they're taking the mutagen to Arkham.
