[Opening sequence and theme song.]

[Episode opens inside the turtle’s lair. The turtles are watching television.]

Splinter "Greetings, my students. What are you watching?"

Donatello "Oh hi, Master Splinter. This great spy movie, The Adventures of Secret Agent Triple Zero."

Michelangelo "Yeah, Sensei, the dude is in big trouble now, look. He's handcuffed, then those guys are going to shove him out of that plane!"

Splinter "But I know he gets out of his predicament."

Leonardo "How do you know, Master?"

Splinter "Because I saw him in The Return of Agent Triple Zero."

[The picture gives way to static.]

Leonardo "Oh, no!"

Michelangelo "Bummer!"

Raphael "Come on, do something, Donatello. I gotta know how he gets out of this one."

Donatello "Oh, it's no use. There's some kind of interference."

[Donatello fiddles with the knob on the TV. Suddenly Krang appears on the TV set.]

Krang "Greeting, earthlings, and an extra special hello to the ninja turtles."

Leonardo "It's Krang! How did he get on TV?"

Krang "I've got the latest news from Dimension X and it's all bad."

Donatello "He must have been able to jump the circuit wave barrier from Dimension X."

Krang "Unless the government of your city agrees to provide me with enough power to return my Technodrome to Earth, I will vaporize a one-mile square area of the city in one hour. I'll be in touch. Tah tah."

Michelangelo "That dude's nasty."

Leonardo "I don't believe it."

Donatello "Impossible. Even Krang doesn't have the power to do that."

Splinter "What concerns me most, my students, is that he believes that he has."

[Inside the Technodrome, Krang and Shredder work on their new find.]

Krang "Perhaps I shouldn't have done that broadcast, but I just couldn't resist. Since I have discovered how this alien computer operates, nothing can stop me."

Shredder "You forget, Krang, I found that strange spaceship in the first place. Without it, you would not even have this computer."

Krang "I didn't forget. I just don't believe in sharing credit.
[An image appears on the Technodrome viewing screen. A device is strapped to a pipe in the sewers beneath New York City.]

Besides, I designed that de-materializer device using microchips from the alien computer. If those puny earthlings do not give me the power I want, the de-materializer will turn their city into an empty desert.
"

Shredder "Bebop, Rocksteady! Get rid of these left-over parts!"

Rocksteady "You wanna throw this away, too, boss?"

[He holds up something that looks like a keyboard.]

Shredder "The motherboard, yes, that too."

[Inside the Channel 6 news station, Irma and April listen to a musician/songwriter play a tune for them.]

Howie Hardy "Tah dah, that's my big city blues. How do you like it?"

Irma "Mm, isn't Howie just the greatest, April?"

April O’Neil "You're almost as great as the turtles!"

[Howie starts singing.]

Howie "I wear turtle pajamas, I eat turtle food, I've got turtles on my turtles and I'm turtley rude, I'm a turtle dude, dude I'm a turtle dude, dude I'm a turtle dude, doo doo doo doo~"

[The studio door suddenly opens.]

Burne Thompson "What's going on? I'm running a news show here, not a hootenanny!"

Irma "Oh, hi, Mr. Thompson. I would like you to meet my friend, Howie."

Howie "It's an honor to meet you. I'm a songwriter, Mr. Thompson. I'm writing this new song and I just can't get it right."

Thompson "This is a work day, ladies. Get your friend out of here!"

Irma "But Mr. Thompson, his piano’s been repossessed by the finance company."

Thompson "That's not my problem. Back to work, you two, or you can start singing songs about being unemployed!"

Howie "Well, bye, Irma. Thanks, anyway."

[Back at the Technodrome, Bebop and Rocksteady are tossing parts into dumpsters. Bebop is having a hard time fitting the motherboard inside.]

Bebop "Hey, how come I got to take out the garbage? I ain't even married."

Rocksteady "Oh, quit griping. It'll be good practice for when you finally meet the warthog of your dreams."

Bebop "There's no more room in these dumpsters."

Rocksteady "Aw, just dump it in the Earth portal. Who’ll know?"

Bebop "Yeah, you're right."

[At the lair, the turtles try to locate Krang’s device.]

Donatello "If Krang is controlling some device to vaporize the city, it will show up on this portal activity detector. But there's nothing.
[A dot flashes on the detector.]

There's something. A portal opening near mid-town.
"

Leonardo "The Technodrome?"

Donatello "No, something a lot smaller. But whatever it is, we'd better find it. My hand-held tracking module will lead us right to it."

[They leave the lair. Irma and Howie are visiting Arty’s, an establishment that advertises “We Buy Junk – We Sell Antiques”.]

Irma "That's much too much money for this piece of junk."

Arty "This is a rare antique piano. Look at this workmanship. I advise you to grab it up!"

[He smacks his hand down on top of the piano and it falls apart.]

Howie "Is that your only piano?"

Arty "That's all I got."

[A portal opens in the wall behind them and the motherboard drops out.]

Howie "Listen, what was that?"

Irma "What's this thing?"

Arty "Well, it's a, um, it’s a sort of a musical, uh, whatcha-ma-call-it. I'll let it go cheap."

Howie "Irma, I think we found what we're looking for."

[The turtles, wearing disguises, arrive outside of Arty’s.]

Donatello "Hold it, guys. Whatever came through the portal landed somewhere in that second-hand store."

Raphael "Well that's Krang for you, always looking for a bargain."

[In the Technodrome, Krang prepares to make good on his threat.]

Shredder "There's been no answer from Earth on providing the power we need."

Krang "Too bad for them. I have just activated the de-materializer device. In a few minutes... one mile of ugly city will just disappear."

Bebop "Maybe you could use it on Rocksteady's head."

[The turtles are searching Arty’s.]

Donatello "We're looking for something you acquired in, oh, say the last thirty minutes."

Arty "You must mean the whatcha-ma-call-it."

Raphael "Of course, the whatcha-ma-call-it. We forgot its name."

Arty "Funny, one minute it wasn't here, the next minute it was."

Donatello "That gadget must be what came through the portal. We'll buy it, how much?"

Arty "Sorry, I just sold it to a nice, young couple."

Raphael "Bye bye, whatcha-ma-call-it."

Leonardo "Can we track it down?"

Donatello "No, this tracking device can only plot the whatcha-ma-call-it's point of arrival. After that, we're on our own."

[Howie and Irma are at Howie’s apartment. He is playing music on the motherboard.]

Howie "Thanks for this music machine, Irma. It's weird, but it works great!"

Irma "A talent like yours must be nurtured."

Howie "Irma, you're the greatest.
[The motherboard begins playing.]

Hey, it's playing all by itself!
"

Irma "How romantic, it's playing our song."

Howie "I don't know about that, but these are the notes I've been searching for."

[The de-materializer device is counting down.]

Krang "Soon Earth will pay for its ignorance of my power. When that de-materializing device goes off, everything in the central city will vanish forever."

[The turtles are back in the sewers. They run right under the pipe holding the device.]

Raphael "Oh, great, we'll never find Krang's device."

Leonardo "What do we do now, Donatello?"

Donatello "Ah, don't worry, I'm sure something will hit us."

[Krang spots the turtles on his viewing screen.]

Krang "How convenient. Look who's arrived just in time to be de-materialized."

Shredder "What irony. After all our efforts to destroy the turtles, and they blunder into their doom!"

[April has joined Irma and Howie.]

Irma "What's wrong, Howie?"

Howie "I don't get it, Irma. I keep playing one melody, but it comes out another."

April "I'll call the turtles. I'll guess Donatello can figure this computer out."

[She pulls out her turtlecom. The gang inside the Technodrome watches the last seconds count down.]

Krang "Let's switch to a view of the city. I want to watch the real estate vanish."

[Music filters through the loudspeaker. The timer stops.]

Shredder "What happened?"

Krang "Where is that music coming from? Ow ow ow!"

[The Technodrome starts shaking and Shredder claps his hands over his ears. In the sewers...]

Michelangelo "Did you dudes get a funny feeling? Like, we just had a close call or something."

Leonardo "No, not me."

Raphael "Didn't feel a thing."

Donatello "Not me."

Michelangelo "It must have been that last pizza I had."

[Krang pounds on his control console.]

Krang "Those blasted turtles must be using music to sabotage my computers."

Shredder "How can that be? You just saw their vapid expressions. They obviously know nothing."

Krang "It is you who know nothing, Shredder! Those turtles will ruin everything! This will track down the device the turtles are using. Find it! Make them pay for this, Shredder."

[He hands Shredder a tracking device that shaped like a large ball.]

Shredder "With the greatest of pleasure. Bebop, Rocksteady, follow me!"

[Cut to the turtles.]

Donatello "Whatever it was that came through the portal, has something to do with Krang's plans."

Raphael "Well, that's comforting to know, now that we can't find it!"

[Donatello’s turtlecom beeps.]

Donatello "Donatello here."

April "We need your help. Irma just bought this computer, whatcha-ma-call-it, from a second-hand store for her friend Howie, and it's acting really weird."

Donatello "A whatcha-ma-call-it? From a second-hand store?"

Leonardo "Then Irma and Howie were the ones who bought it."

Donatello "We'll be right there, April. Don't let that thing out of your sight!
[They arrive at the apartment.]

This is the place. I hope we're right about this computer thing.
"

[Shredder lurks around the corner.]

Shredder "Ah ha. So this is where the Turtles have their device. Well, not for long. Ha ha ha ha!"

[He goes into the alley and starts climbing the fire escape.]

Howie "I can't believe it! The ninja turtles, right here in my loft!"

Raphael "Yup, breath-taking event, isn't it?"

Michelangelo "Don't freak out, dude. Just think of us as teenagers with shells."

Howie "Teenage... Teenagers with shells? What a great idea for a song!
[He plays music on the motherboard and sings.]

Why can't I be a teenager with a shell, I'd live in sewers just to have the right smell, I'd be bodacious, that's a word I can't spell, Why can't I be a teenager with a shell~
"

Raphael "Is this guy for real?"

Howie "That's something I think I could be very well, Just paint me green and maybe nobody could tell, Why can't I be a teenager with a shell, Why can't I be a teenager with a shell~"

Donatello "This is really not a good time for a concert."

Leonardo "Howie, thanks, but we have serious business to deal with."

[Donatello examines the interior of the motherboard.]

April "Well, Donatello, what do you think?"

Donatello "I think this is the most complicated circuitry I've ever seen. But what does it do?
[Keyboard plays on its own.]

Huh?
"

Howie "That's what it does. All on its own."

[Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady spy on the group from the rooftop skylight. Shredder communicates with Krang via comlink.]

Shredder "There is the device your tracker led us to, Krang."

Krang "The alien motherboard. So that's what fouled up the launch. Bebop, Rocksteady!"

[The pair of mutants climb onto the glass, but it breaks under their weight. They fall into the apartment.]

Irma "It's Rocksteady and Bebop!"

Raphael "Hey, horn head! Where's your tin-faced leader?"

Shredder "Right here, shell backs! It's curtains for you, turtles! I've always wanted to say that."

Donatello "I knew it. That device has something to do with Krang's threat."

Shredder "You mean you didn't know? Fools! The music from this alien computer sabotaged the de-materializer device and you had it in your hands! Bebop, Rocksteady, now!"

Leonardo "Don't let him get the device!"

Michelangelo "No problemo, dude!"

Howie "This gets better and better.
[He starts playing a song on the motherboard.]

Evil doers never stand a chance, Against the Ninja Turtles, Ninja Turtles fighting all day long Ninja Turtles fighting to my song Fight fight fight fight fight fight Fight fight fight fight fight~
"

[Rocksteady yanks the motherboard out of Howie’s hands.]

Rocksteady "I'll take that. I hate songs written in C-sharp. Can I smash it now, boss?"

Donatello "Stop him! That device is the only thing preventing Krang from leveling the city."

[Krang watches on the viewing screen. The image switches to the de-materializer, which is counting down again.]

Krang "That's right, and your precious city will be vaporized even sooner than you think."

Shredder "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

Krang "Don't waste too much time with these turtles, Shredder. I'd hate to see you vanish as well."

Shredder "What do you mean, Krang?"

Krang "I mean that the de-materializing device has been triggered again. It'll make everything in that one-mile area disappear."

Michelangelo "Oh, no, dudes!"

Krang "I'm sorry about this, turtles. You know I'd diffuse it if I could. If I were you, Shredder, I'd destroy that motherboard and find the nearest portal entry, pronto."

Rocksteady "Well, I'm getting out of here. Say bye-bye to your computer, fella's."

Leonardo "That's what you think, zoo breath! Hi-yah!"

[He kicks Rocksteady and the motherboard flies out of his hands.]

Donatello "Quick, Michelangelo!"

[He and Michelangelo rush forward with couch cushions. They place them on the floor just in time for the motherboard to drop on them.]

Michelangelo "Phew! Mondo move, dude."

Howie "Those turtles are incredible, and to think I'm going to immortalize them in song!"

April "Later, Howie. Right now we've got to get this computer out of here!"

Donatello "Be careful, guys! That computer's music just might save the city."

[Bebop stands in front of the door.]

Bebop "Nobody's getting through this door!"

Howie "Who cares? I don't use that closet much any way."

Bebop "Uh, closet? "

[He opens it to look inside and junk spills out on top of him.]

April "Let's go, guys! The news van is parked downstairs!"

[April, Irma, and Howie carry the motherboard out of the apartment. Shredder races after them.]

Shredder "No!"

Donatello "Where do you think you're going, tin grin?"

Shredder "To take care of your friends and that alien motherboard."

Donatello "Well, think again."

[They battle. Shredder knocks Donatello into the wall, but he jumps back into the battle. He strikes Shredder with his .]

Donatello "Hi-yah!"

Shredder "Agghhhhh! You fools! They're getting away!"

Raphael "I always say, one good jerk deserves another."

[He pulls the rug out from under Rocksteady, causing him to fall into Shredder.]

Shredder "We must get that motherboard."

Rocksteady "Right, boss."

[They run down the hallway and through an opening which has a top-hinged door hanging above it.]

Shredder "This will hold those repulsive reptiles."

[He cuts the cord holding the door up. It slams shut. Leonardo tries kicking it.]

Leonardo "That door is solid steel. It won't budge."

Donatello "Guys, we've got to diffuse that de-materializer."

Leonardo "But first we've got to get out of here."

Michelangelo "No sweat, dude.
[He throws his turtle line onto a rafter. Everyone grabs on.]

Kowabunga!
"

[The turtles crash through a glass window and swing down to the ground on a lamp post and signal light.]

All "Turtle power!"

Raphael "Now what?"

Donatello "Shredder said that the computer's music stopped that device that Krang planted. We need to amplify that music until it stops it for good."

Michelangelo "Hey, we could play it at a rock concert. Some of that music could stop anything."

Leonardo "What about the Channel 6 transmitter?"

Donatello "That's it! But I've gotta find that de-materializer device and try and disarm it. Michelangelo, help me follow the trail."

Michelangelo "Right, dude."

Leonardo "Raphael and I will follow April and keep that motherboard out of Shredder's hands."

[Donatello uses his turtlecom to reach Splinter.]

Donatello "Master Splinter."

Splinter "Yes, Donatello, what is it?"

Donatello "Maybe you oughta leave the lair, Master Splinter. That device of Krang's is set to go off and I don't know if I can find it in time."

Splinter "I have every confidence in you, my student."

Donatello "Great, I wish I did."

[April uses her turtlecom to communicate with Donatello while she’s driving the Channel 6 news van.]

April "We're on our way to Channel 6 now, Donatello."

Donatello "Good, April. When you get there, head for the transmitter room. I'll tell you what to do then. Donatello, out."

April "Enough with the notes, Howie. Play us the song."

[Howie is in the back of the van playing musical notes on the motherboard.]

Howie "I love requests.
[He plays and sings.]

~Heroes in a half shell~ Not weasels in a cream sauce ~Heroes in a half shell~ They're tubular and way cool ~Heroes in a half shell~ They ain't no enchilada ~Heroes in a half shell~ They don't do nothing bad yeah I want to be a hero like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles~ I want to be a hero like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Heroes in a half shell~ No weasels in a cream sauce ~Heroes in a half shell~ They're tubular and way cool ~Heroes in a half shell~ They ain't no enchilada ~Heroes in a half shell~ They don't do nothing bad yeah, I want to be a hero like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles~ I want to be a hero like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles~
"

[Shredder and his mutants follow the van in a taxi cab.]

Shredder "Faster, they're getting away!"

Taxi Driver "So what if you're late for your costume party. We got speed laws in this town."

Rocksteady "Yeah? And we intend to break them all! Now step on it!"

[Donatello and Michelangelo run through the sewers.]

Donatello "According to the module, that de-materializer is somewhere in this area."

Michelangelo "Not too fussy, is it?"

Donatello "Look. There it is."

Michelangelo "All right!"

Irma "Oh, step on it, April! Shredder and his goons are on our tail!"

Howie "Darn, this would be the perfect time for some chase music."

[Donatello and Michelangelo have piled up wooden boxes so they can reach the de-materializer.]

Donatello "Leave it to Krang. He's designed this device to go off at the slightest touch."

Michelangelo "Uh-oh, that tune sounds familiar."

Donatello "It sure does. I hope April and Irma have gotten to Channel 6."

[April, Irma, and Howie are inside the Channel 6 building.]

April "I've got the alien computer wired to the transmitter, Donatello."

Donatello "Good, when you hit the main switch, it'll send that music into every part of the city."

[April hits the switch, but nothing happens.]

April "It's not working."

Irma "Great, it plays through the whole show, but then when you want it to, nothing."

[The door behind them crashes open.]

Shredder "Smash that computer, Bebop!"

Irma "Howie, play your music, now!"

[Rocksteady grabs Howie and lifts him up.]

Rocksteady "Forget it! This performance is cancelled."

[Leonardo and Raphael fly into the room. They both cut electric cables hanging from the ceiling. The cables zap Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady, who drops Howie.]

Leonardo "Hi-yah!"

Shredder "No no no!"

Raphael "As Michelangelo would say, "Real tubular, dude”."

[He kicks a bunch of cathode-ray tubes under the enemies’ feet. They slide on them and fall.]

All "Huh, hey! Aa! Uh!"

[Howie slides across the room and Irma catches him.]

Irma "Got you. Now play, Howie, play."

[Howie plays the theme song. It echoes throughout the city.]

Thompson "I warned them about playing during office hours! This time they've gone too far!"

[Thompson storms out of his office. Donatello and Michelangelo hold their ears as they watch the de-materializer continue to count-down.]

Donatello "Come on, Howie, play!
[The counter stops at one second.]

Ah, it's diffused.
"

Michelangelo "Totally excellent."

Krang "No! That music! It's causing all my computers to re-program themselves.
[Laser blasts shoot from the viewing screen.]

Ow, Shredder! Help! Stop those computers!
[Shredder and his mutants run out of the portal and bash the computer.]

No, no, I didn't say smash them! Stop, stop!
"

[The turtles, Irma, and April are back in Howie’s apartment. He plays a tune for them on a mini-piano.]

All "All right, Howie!"

Howie "Gee, thanks. It was swell of you guys to get me this new piano."

Michelangelo "Oh, dude, it isn't new. We got it at a second-hand store."

Raphael "But we've always been big supporters of the fine arts."

Donatello "Oh, I'm glad I was able to use some of the parts from that alien computer to fix this one."

Michelangelo "It's pizza time, dudes and dudettes."

[The piano plays the turtle theme by itself.]

All "Oh, no!"
