Mr. Troglodyte is a cave dwelling monkey encountered by the Turtles in the Cretaceous period. Though he is referred to as a monkey in the comic strip TMNT comic strip Time Travelling Turtles, he does speak perfect English.
History[]
Time Travelling Turtles[]
After the Turtles are teleported to the Cretaceous period when Donatello accidentally activated a Portable Time Travel Device, he loses the device in a cave and Mr. Troglodyte finds it. The curious monkey then accidentally activates it as well and is teleported forward in time to the Turtle Lair. When he sees Splinter, he begins jumping up and down asking "ook?" and exclaiming "ook!". Splinter turns to call out to Casey Jones that one of his friends is here to see him.
Following the trail of the time wand, Savanti arrives in the lair and demands the device from Splinter. When Savanti spots Mr. Troglodyte holding the time wand he pounces on him. They roll around fighting for a time, but Mr. Troglodyte proves to be too much for Savanti and the demon announces that he thinks the monkey should keep the wand. Later Savanti changes tactics and attempts to make a trade with Mr. Troglodyte. Savanti offers his pogs, his comics, his baseball cards, and an autographed photo of Pat Sajak for the rod. When Mr. Troglodyte refuses, Savanti resorts to begging and whining, but the monkey activates the time wand and vanishes.
Mr. Troglodyte reappears near the Turtles, and they try to jump him to get the time rod back. However, the only thing they succeed in doing is to frighten Mr. Troglodyte and he zaps himself out of their path. He then presents himself to Renet and they begin speaking to each other in a series of "ooks". Mr. Troglodyte offers the time wand to her, and she thanks him. As she races off to tell the Turtles the good news, Mr. Troglodyte turns to the reader and says "All she had to do was ask politely".
Watching as Renet and the Turtles use the time wand to leave, Mr. Troglodyte expresses his disapproval over the fact that they didn't even say good-bye. He also frowns in disgust as he picks up a book called "1000 Ways to Cook Eggs", and says that they left their trash behind.
