Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
In the IDW continuity, Mona Lisa has an apartment in Mutant Town. It makes an appearance in the short story "Wreckreation", where Mona invites Jennika, Alopex and Sally Pride there for a girls night.
Compared to Alopex's shelter and much of the rest of the neighborhood, the apartment appears well furnished with no visible signs of structural damage. As shown in TMNT #111, the apartment is on the top floor of its building.
Although not seen at the time, Mona's apartment becomes temporary lodging for the Splinter Clan following their dōjō's destruction in TMNT #125. When the Turtles remember that the church they had lived in before is within Mutant Town's borders, they move back into the church's basement. TMNT #127.
Notes and trivia[]
The size of the apartment (or at least that of its living room) varies significantly between portrayals though, appearing quite spacious in "Wreckreation", but relatively smaller in its appearances in the ongoing series. According to Sophie Campbell, this is an artistic difference for the sake of mood, with "Wreckreation" having a more airy apartment for its more "fun" story, whereas Sophie drew a more visually confining version of it in the ongoing series.[1]
