 HEY, KID, YOU'RE
 A LONG WAY
 FROM NICKTOONS!

Some TMNT stuff was always meant for grownups.

Molly Rodriguez is a friend of April O'Neil's who appears in the Mirage Studios story Egyptian Adventure. She is an archeologist who invites April to Egypt to report on her findings; she also moonlights as a belly-dancer.

History[]

Molly is hired by a multinational development firm, Tech II, as part of a requirement by the Egyptian government to ensure that their plans for a resort don't damage or destroy anything of cultural merit. Tech II, for their part, is only complying out of necessity, and is extremely hopeful that nothing will impede their progress. Molly calls her friend April to join her on the expedition, letting her be the sole reporter to cover the dig. Tech II's foreman is outraged at this, hoping they don't find anything significant that could disrupt their plans.

The night April arrives, Molly takes April to a party where she performs a belly dance. While there one of the locals who is working on the expedition rushes in and tells her of a discovery; a fairly unique crest. April faxes an image of the crest to the Ninja Turtles back in Northampton, and their research reveals that the crest is that of Aunkamen, a rebel prince who attempted to overtake the position of pharaoh with black magic and psychology, and while he never achieved his goal, he cursed the uncovering of his tomb. The Turtles realize Molly and April are in danger and ship themselves to Egypt.

Meanwhile, Molly goes to the dig site, which she asks a local (who unbeknownst to her and April, is hypnotized), why she wasn't informed of it. The hypnotized man coaxes Molly and April to enter, and they are confronted by Jackal, the anthropomorphic jackal assistant to Aunkamen. Bringing two statues to life as Ramses and Thoth, Jackal has them kidnap the women as brides for his master, and forces them into skimpy ancient Egyptian-themed bikinis.

The Turtles arrive at the workers' camp and are attacked by a hypnotized local. They read Molly's notes and Leo spies more drones near a dig site in the distance. The Turtles head there and fight through Jackal's animated statues and mummies, reaching Molly and April, just in time for Aunkamen to burst forth from his sarcophagus. The Turtles fight Aunkamen, and eventually take him down by collapsing the cave on him.

Later, the Turtles go back to Northampton and April reports on the events, with Molly describing them and thanking the Turtles for their help.

Trivia[]

  • Molly may be named after Mark Bodé's wife, Molly Bodé, who also partakes in belly-dancing.
