[Opening sequence and theme song.]
[The episode opens on daylight in New York City. Michelangelo pushes aside a manhole cover and climbs up to the street. He is disguised in human clothing.]
Michelangelo "Hurry, compadre."
Raphael "Relax, Michelangelo."
[The start running down the street. Unbeknownst to them, they are being spied upon by a man carrying a notepad. He begins writing.]
Jerry Spiegel "Came out of sewers."
[He chases after the Turtles. Farther ahead, Michelangelo slides to a stop.]
Michelangelo "Scope it out. My favorite literature. Comic books!"
[He runs over to a newsstand. Spiegel peers around the corner of a building and makes another note.]
Spiegel "Huh, likes comic books. Amazing!"
Raphael "Mushroom Man? Super Wombat? Ha, ha! The Teen Twinkies? How can you read this junk?"
Michelangelo "Junk? Get off the planet, bud. I don't believe it. It's not here."
Raphael "What's not here?"
Michelangelo "The most ultramondo, fantabulouso comic in the entire universe - Bugman!"
Spiegel "Likes Bugman, unbelievable!"
Michelangelo "Excuse me, mister news vendor dude, but, like, what happened to the new issue of Bugman?"
News vendor "Bugman? They don't publish it no more."
Michelangelo "What? But it's the greatest comic book of all time!"
News vendor "So, go complain to the publisher. Now move along. This ain't no library!"
Michelangelo "No more Bugman. What am I going to do with my spare time?"
Raphael "Well, there's always the opera."
[They descend into the sewers. Spiegel starts laughing.]
Spiegel "At last! I can discover exactly where their lair is."
Raphael "Come on, Michelangelo, so what if you can't get the comic anymore. You know the real Bugman."
Michelangelo ""
Raphael "Some secret identity. The whole world knows about it."
Michelangelo "Well, that's because some dude spied on him and then put all that stuff in the comic book."
