The pirate radio station of Michelangelo appears Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #109. Mikey had become increasingly concerned with the fearful and suspicious attitude towards Mutant Town's inhabitants from the human broadcast media outside the walls. He was also put off by the methods of Lola Cruz, a human journalist who had snuck into the zone and barraged Mikey and Lita with questions on the sidewalk. Mikey decided that the inhabitants of Mutant Town itself should have a voice to the outside world, so he asked his brother Donatello to help him set up a pirate radio station which could be broadcast directly from the Splinter Dōjō. Later in the issue, various mutants in the community were shown listening to Mikey's first broadcast.
