Michaelangelo is one of the four Hero Turtles appearing in the comic strip Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. He is the only one who does not carry a weapon. Characterized as the happy-go-lucky and jokey turtle, Michalangelo nevertheless possesses the chance to lose his temper and take it out on his foes with brutality.

At some point, Michaelangelo and his brothers came into contact with a mutagenic substance and became a humanoid, then was trained by the rat master Splinter.
Mad Cow Denise[]
Shredder and Krang send a robot cow called Denise and pig named Pete to get the Turtles out of their way. Pete hypnotizes Leonardo into obeying Denise, and despite his brothers' hesitance, they all go with Denise to the Land of Stone, and she abandons them there. Raphael ends up restoring Leonardo's senses to him during a fight, and the Turtles return to Denise's ship by swiping Bebop and Rocksteady's microplane.
Leo beats Pete and gets angry and attacks the Turtles with lasers from her hands. An enraged Michaelangelo takes Donatello's bō and beats Denise until she is destroyed.
The No-Joke Affair[]
Crime boss Art E. Choke hires gangster Rudolph McLizard to take out the Turtles, who he feels could interrupt his operations. McLizard and his Lizard Gang rob a bank to draw the Turtles' attention, then attack. McLizard himself knocks out Michaelangelo with a punch to the back of the head. They continue to wail on Michaelangelo until the Turtles pull him free and retreat to tend to his wounds. McLizard declares his mission a success. He is restored to health thanks to the aroma of a mega-sized jelly bean and mushroom pizza.
