Merlin is a British wizard who is best known for his association with King Arthur. He is Arthur's mentor and friend.
History[]
Merlin is an ancient magician whose true age is known to none, including himself. He is rumored to be the product of a tryst between a male demon and a human woman, and his ever-present hat hides a pair of horns that would confirm this. He was the personal advisor of both Uther Pendragon and his son, Arthur, until he was trapped in the Crystal Caves by the nymph Nimue. Ever since his tenure in imprisonment and his subsequent escape, he has become paranoid (especially of being trapped), depressed, and simply insane, to where his logic is unfathomable to anybody else. Fortunately, he also has periods of lucidity, in which he retains his wisdom and power he is legendary for.
Upon the emergence of the reincarnated King Arthur, Merlin is honorbound to serve him once more.
