Match-Stik is a mutant rat and the master and "spiritual guru" of the Sushi Turtles.
History[]
Match-Stik was the pet of a famous sushi master, aptly named Sushi. While in his cage, he mimicked his master's food preparation techniques. Sushi and Match-Stik were then forced to immigate to America when Sushi killed his rival Oroku Noogy, after it was discovered that he was sleeping with sushi critic Tang Jar to achieve stellar reviews in her newspaper column. Tang Jar and Sushi were killed by Noogy's brother, Soggy, after he feared that his own dish of raw bat would get a negative review in Tang Jar's column. Match-Stik ended up homeless and encountered four Turtles and they came into contact with a red ooze that mutated them all.
Match-Stik raised the Turtles on his own in the sewers beneath the Popeel TV marketing labs, where he taught them how to use Popeel products and make sushi.
After Match-Stik meets April Mayjune and tells her of his origins, they are all eventually found by the Batguy Clan and Match-Stik is kidnapped. He is tortured by Shih Tzu using an album of Bat Trance music. Match-Stik used his and the Turtles' ear implant walkie talkies to reach out to them and encourage them to find and save him. They arrive and Kootie Jones knocks out Shih Tzu as he is preparing (but stalling) to kill the rat.
The Turtles face Soggy on a rooftop and are trounced. Match-Stik shows up Soggy hits him with the scarf that Toyoduh weaved, but is knocked hanging from the roof, tangled up in it. Match-Stik throws him his salad shooter helmet and he and the scarf are fed through the scarf. Green-Grey Sponge-Suit Sushi Turtles!
