Synopsis[]

Down in the lair, the Turtles are heading out on patrol. Raphael reminds them not to disturb Splinter because he’s meditating. Donatello thinks he could be solving their problems with the Kraang and Raph hopes he’s planning on how best to kick their butts.

Michelangelo comes bouncing up, talking loudly about getting the patrol done so they can grab pizza. His brothers quickly shush him before he bothers Splinter. In the dojo, Splinter has heard them and muses on how difficult it is to meditate when his sons are about. With them gone, he hopes that now he can reach deep transcendence. As hard as he tries, things around the lair disturb him; a dripping faucet, music from the pinball machine and even Ice Cream Kitty meowing in the freezer.

Frustrated, Splinter rises and goes in search of a quiet place to meditate. Later he is miles away from the lair, though still in the sewer tunnels. He locates a broad, dry space beneath a grate that lets in sunshine. Vines grow down from the ceiling, providing an ever greater sense of tranquility. Splinter settles in to meditate, his walking stick on the ground in front of him.

A trio of eyes shimmer out of the darkness of a tunnel behind Splinter. Soon the owners of those eyes step into the open, revealing them to be mutant raccoons. The leader, a short raccoon called Esteban, addresses Splinter, calling him an old man and asking if a raccoon has his tongue. This draws a chuckle from his pals, though Splinter moves not one inch.

Esteban then orders the other two, Rash and Little Kit, to mug Splinter for all he’s worth. Rash scratches himself and tells Splinter to give them his money. Little Kit wonders how much Splinter’s staff is worth. Without opening his eyes, Splinter lifts a hand and tells them to be on their way because he is meditating. The raccoons laugh and then Esteban tells Little Kit to break his legs.

Little Kit is more than happy to attack, but Splinter rises and socks him in the face so hard it throws the raccoon across the room. Using his staff, Splinter strikes Rash and then spins to grab Esteban by his shirt front. Splinter slams Esteban to the ground and a short time later, all three thugs are sprawled out and defeated. Finding that relaxing, Splinter thanks the trio for the best meditative fight he’s had in years. He wonders if perhaps they can do it again sometime, but Esteban says no thanks.

Sometime later, the Turtles tiptoe into the lair and over to the dojo door. Splinter is in the exact same place as he was when they left. Don predicted that their father hasn’t moved, then Raph says Splinter must be so bored. He thinks their father should get out once in a while.
