Los Angeles, also known by the acronym L.A., is the largest city in the state of California, and the second largest city in the United States after New York City. The city has a warm Mediterranean climate on the Pacific coast of North America, and is famously the home of most of the American film and television entertainment industry, including Hollywood.
In the Mirage continuity story arc City at War, April O'Neil abruptly leaves her then-home at the Jones Farm in Northampton, Massachusetts, without telling the Turtles, Splinter and Casey Jones in advance, so that she can try to make a new life for herself in Los Angeles. There, she moves in with her older sister Robyn O'Neil and tries to fit into city life and turn her computer programming skills into a steady job, but eventually finds she is unhappy with L.A. When the news arrives that their father John O'Neil has died, April and Robyn return to New York City for the funeral, and April decides to remain on the East Coast.
The 1990 promotional video Operation Blue Line is also set in Los Angeles.
