TMNT Ultimates is a brand of figures created by Super7.
First teased at SDCC 2018 with nothing more than a place-card to announce Super7 had acquired the license, fans had to wait until the following ComicCon in 2019 to get their first look at the new figures.
While most other licenses falling under this brand name are derived from their animation looks, (eg: Transformers, Masters of the Universe) Turtle is unique in that the line is an update/homage to the original Playmates Toys figures from the 1980s. While details such as weapons and over-all stylings are accurate to the originals, they feature updates to the articulation and changes particularly in the size of figures. No longer are all characters forced to squish into a standard blister card - characters like Bebop and Rocksteady are quite a bit larger than a regular Turtle.
