The Sloth Monster Lethargo is one of the Thirteen Monsters that appears in TMNT. It is likely based on the Mapinguari, a sloth-like cryptid that has been reported as living in the Amazon rainforests.
History[]
The Lethargo came to Earth 3000 years ago and has been terrorizing humanity for centuries.
In the present time, it found its way onto a subway train in New York. General Mono confronted the Lethargo and managed to defeat it by using his hammer to knock it off the train. The Lethargo was then taken back to Max Winters' tower and locked in a cage. After the final battle against the Stone Generals, the Lethargo was sent back to its home world.
Trivia[]
The name Lethargo comes from the book adaptations of the movie, but is the only official name outside of Playmates' generic "Sloth Monster" for the action figure.
