Leonardo is the leader of the Ninja Turtles.
History[]
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issue 1[]
Leonardo and his brothers encountered the Foot Clan on a rooftop in New York City, which was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary until one of them proved to be stronger than the others and got the drop on Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo decided to nickname this ninja "Steve".
Later, the Turtles caught "Steve" trying to break into Mason Technologies. Steve morphed and revealed himself to be the Green Power Ranger, Tommy Oliver. His morphing clued the other Rangers into his location, and upon seeing the Turtles fighting Tommy, assumed they were Rita Repulsa's monsters and attacked them.
Powers and abilities[]
- Ninjutsu: Leo has trained almost his entire life in the art of ninjutsu, which includes not only armed and unarmed combat, but subjects of stealth, strategy, espionage, information-gathering, escape, and more.
- Olympic level athlete: Due to his extensive training in ninjutsu, Leonardo is an exemplary athlete and could potentially compete at professional events if he were able to.
- Leadership: Leonardo leads the Turtles, and deals with all of the privileges and struggles that entails.
- Mutant turtle physiology: Leonardo has the advantages (and potential disadvantages) with being a bipedal turtle of humanoid size and stature. Most prominent, is his shell, a natural armor comprised of the carapace and plastron. Leonardo also has the capability to swim in a class far exceeding any human, and has additional underwater-based attributes such as the ability to hold his breath longer, increased visibility, and better mobility.
Weapons and equipment[]
- Twin katana: Leonardo's primary weapon are a pair of swords commonly referred to as katana.
- Bandana: Leonardo wears a blue eyemask bandana.
