Summary[]
The Turtles are excited about the impending visit from April O'Neil, each of them certain that they are her favorite. Splinter tells them that he’s sure April will enjoy having tea with all of them and Leonardo compliments him for always knowing the right thing to say.
Elsewhere, that morning in the Technodrome, Shredder has given instructions to Bebop and Rocksteady and asks that they repeat them back to him. They do so, the plan being that April will walk through the zoo that afternoon and the pair of them, in disguise, will snatch her. Shredder says that they will then bring her back to the Technodrome to be used as a lure to trap the Turtles.
On her way to meet the Turtles in their lair, April passes through the zoo. She comes upon a cage containing a baboon and a polar bear. April finds it interesting to see those two creatures together, but then the door swings open and they grab her. It turns out that the ‘baboon’ is Bebop and the ‘polar bear’ is Rocksteady.
Michaelangelo grows worried that April is late, which is not like her. Leonardo tells him to calm down, that they can watch some TV while the pizza’s warming in the oven. Their program is interrupted by a news report that April has been kidnapped. Before the broadcaster can report much more, Shredder shoves him aside and gets in front of the camera to inform the Turtles that he’s got their girlfriend and if they want her, they have to come and get her.
The angry Turtles vow several types of harm upon Shredder, but Splinter cautions them to control themselves in order to think clearly. He says that Shredder is inviting them to walk into a trap and they must outwit him. He seats himself on the floor and begins to meditate as the Turtles wait impatiently. Splinter finally says he has a plan. Instead of four rescuers, they will make it appear that there is only one. They must use the element of surprise. All four Turtles volunteer, but Splinter silences them, saying he has a plan that will keep them all happy.
Meanwhile, Shredder has April tied to a chair in a warehouse. She tells him that the Turtles and Splinter are not stupid and will not fall for his plan. Shredder replies that she underestimates the esteem in which they hold her. He points to a trap door and says that when they come, they will fall into it. Suddenly, the outer doors burst open and Leo arrives wielding his katanas. Shredder is astonished to see only one Turtle. Leo faces a roomful of bad guys and says it only takes one Turtle to deal with them.
As everyone surges towards Leo, the other three Turtles enter through the unprotected back door and begin pummeling the Footbots. Leo makes short work of Rocksteady, and Donatello uses his bō to put Bebop out of commission. Facing Shredder, Leo stands near the trap door and April quickly warns him about it. He manages to turn the tables, forcing Shredder to stand just in front of the trap door just as Bebop and Rocksteady are ready to leap back into action. When Leo menaces them with his sword, the pair of mutants back into Shredder and all three fall through the trap door.
After freeing April, the Turtles look down to see that beneath the trap door is a large vat of blue treacle. The Turtles taunt the sticky trio and tell Shredder to keep trying because he keeps their lives from becoming boring. Then Leo says it’s given him an idea for a new Turtle pizza – treacle on pepperoni!
