In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Panini), Leatherhead is a mutant alligator. He is a friend and ally of the Ninja Turtles.
This version of Leatherhead is branched off from his original version in the 2012 TV series. His history before the events of Panini comics is the same as that of his animated version.
History[]
A Slice of Luck[]
Leatherhead makes his debut in the issue 7 story A Slice of Luck. Following a shortcut that Leonardo assures his brothers will bring them right up by the pizza place, the Turtles come up on a sleeping Leatherhead. Certain they can sneak past him, the Turtles crawl along an overhead pipe, but unfortunately, Donatello's T-Phone rings. He tries to answer April's call quickly, but Leatherhead wakes up and grabs Don by the face, before throwing him against a wall. The Turtles grab their brother and flee. Later, after rescuing a pizza boy from Fishface and his goons, Mikey decides to take a slice of pizza to Leatherhead. However, he doesn't realize that the pizza boy was in cahoots with Fishface and planted a tracker on the box. Thinking he's about to attack the lair, Fishface bursts into Leatherhead's lair instead and wakes the alligator. The result is not a happy one for Fishface or his troops.
The Freak Seeker[]
Leatherhead, along with Slash, Mondo Gecko and Tyler Rockwell have been captured and brainwashed by the Ringmistress. They have become part of her circus, performers who do amazing feats for audiences across a hundred different dimensions. Ringmistress describes Leatherhead's upcoming performance to the audience as the "creature juggling five automobiles while doing 100 one-handed push-ups" in ‘The One-Handed Carriage Cascade of Death!’. Michelangelo destroys the Ringmistress' Crystal of Gally-Gaar and breaks the spell the Mutanimals are under, freeing them.
