Las Vegas is the most populous city in the state of Nevada in the United States, located on a part of the Mojave Desert which stretches into Nevada's southern region. The city is famous as the urban anchor of the numerous hotel-casino resorts of the Las Vegas Strip, which despite its name is actually located outside of the city's borders on land in unincorporated Clark County, Nevada; gambling is prohibited in the city of Las Vegas itself.
In the IDW continuity, Las Vegas is the birthplace of Earth Protection Force Agent Jonathan Bishop, and is also the home of some EPF personnel working at nearby Area 51.
