Kwan was a combatant in the Battle Nexus Tournament. He was eliminated in Tier 1 by Leonardo.
When the tournament arena separates the Battle Nexus fighters into pairs, Leonardo finds himself facing Kwan. Though tall and thin, Kwan uses a pair of gauntlets with long, horn like protrusions as weapons. Kwan is not prepared for Leonardo's agility and prowess with his katana. Kwan attempts to strike Leonardo four times; three strikes were blocked on Leonardo's sword, the fourth misses as Leonardo leaps over Kwan's head. Leonardo then leaps and kicks Kwan down, causing Kwan to be teleported out of the ring and the tournament.
