Kitsune is a shape-shifting witch from the era of feudal Japan, who allied herself with Takeshi Tatsuo first and then later Oroku Saki. She played an integral part in the Foot Clan's rise to prominence. She was also involved in Shredder's capture of Leonardo, using her dark magic to manipulate Leonardo's memories and make him believe that Splinter abandoned him and that Shredder was his true ally and master.

Etymology

In Japanese, kitsune (狐) means fox, and in mythology they are seen as cunning shape-shifters and magicians, often taking the form of a beautiful woman.
