Summary[]
Shredder joins Krang in a lab inside the Tecnodromo. A projector displays the image of an animal on a monitor, and Shredder asks what it is, saying it looks like a monkey to him. Krang explains that it’s a super gorilla and that he has made a new Mutogenic Projector that will make them invincible. He holds up a disk and presents it as the heart of the system. On it are the characteristics of hundreds of animals, reduced to mathematical models. With the computer, he can reproduce the, making them stronger and more intelligent. Shredder says that’s nice, but wants to know what it is for. Krang tells him it’s to get better mutants. He indicates Rocksteady and Bebop, saying that those two are not the best. Rocksteady looks at his partner and says that they could also offend each other, but Bebop replies maybe so, if he understood what Krang said. As Krang starts working at the computer console, Shredder says that it seems like a very delicate project. Krang sarcastically tells him that for once, he’s right. He adds that Shredder and his goons need to get out and let him work.
Later, a loud zapping sounds and several bolts of electricity shoot from the laboratory. Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady run to the lab to see what happened. The projector has exploded and then they spot Krang, who has been transformed. He now has a body with arms and legs. He tells them he’s fine and wonders why they are staring. Bebop and Rocksteady bring a large mirror, telling him he’s changed and become a mutant. Shredder immediately says they will examine that data and find a remedy. Krang replies that’s good, but to take his time. Shredder wants to know what he means. Krang explains that he hasn’t had a real body in a long time. He wants to take advantage of it for a bit and decides to go for a little walk on the surface. Shredder then notices that Krang is getting bigger and is told that it must be the growth factor he put into the program. Krang exits the Tecnodromo quickly before he breaks through the ceiling. As he leaves, he tells Shredder to tell him if he finds out something.
Shortly, a pair of delivery men are struggling with a very heavy box. Suddenly, a huge fist bursts through a nearby manhole and Krang asks if the guys need a hand. The two men start running and shouting for help as Krang rips a hole in the road to come to the surface. Krang then proceeds down the center of the road, terrorizing drivers. A truck loaded with bananas comes to a stop and Krang thanks the driver, saying the gorillas are crazy about them. The driver tells him to help himself while go goes to get some more in Africa.
The driver then runs up to April O'Neil and tells her to call the army because King Kong is back. To April, if this is true, then she has found a great story. Rushing to the scene, April is astonished to see the transformed Krang, who has grown to be several stories tall. Krang tells her that she has arrived just at the right time. He reaches down and picks her up. April immediately uses her Turtle Communicator to call her friends and tell them that there is big trouble. Krang starts climbing a high rise and says that it reminds him of an old movie that he liked so much. April replies that she liked it too, before.
Even higher in the sky are the Turtles, approaching the high rise in their Tarta-Dirigibile. Raffaello asks Donatello to wake him up if this is a nightmare. The Turtles draw near Krang, who is now clinging to the top of the high rise. April tells Krang to give up and to remember that in the movie, the big monkey lost. Krang says he wants to change the ending. Just as Krang begins to tell the Turtles what he’ll do next, Shredder flies up next to him. He shouts at Krang to stop playing and go with him. Krang tells him to go away because it’s his big scene. Shredder yells that the radiation that transformed him has been found to be unstable. At any moment, he could…
The warning comes too late. Krang very suddenly returns to normal, drops April, and starts to fall. The Turtles quickly release the glider from the zeppelin and go into a dive. Raffaello reaches out and catches April. Leonardo asks what happened to Krang. The answer is that he has hit the ground, but is still in one piece. Krang says that luckily, he doesn’t have any bones because otherwise, he’d be a mushroom now. Shredder urges they get back to the Tecnodromo before the Turtles attempt an air attack.
A while later, in the Tecnodromo, Shredder comments on how Krang must like the role of giant gorilla. He says that he could have it permanently with a controlled mutation. Krang says that he’s done, because he doesn’t want to have too much fun. Then he turns to see Bebop and Rocksteady munching on bananas. He tells them that they have little to make fun of, calling them dumb nobody’s. The pair look at it other, not knowing what they’ve done wrong.
