Keem is a character appearing in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Rizzoli) comic series.
History[]
One evening in New York City, the famous actress Keem Daryl is outside of the Global Theater greeting her fans. As she climbs into her waiting Rolls Royce, she is unaware that her driver has been replaced by Bebop, sent by Shredder to kidnap her. After spraying her with sleeping gas, he transports her to the Tecnodromo. Shredder places her on one of the Mutogen Inductor chairs and on the other, a box containing the subject that Rocksteady brought from the pet store. After completing his experiment, Shredder administers a dose of amnesia serum to Keem Daryl and she is returned to her normal life. Sometime later, Leonardo and Donatello are traveling through the sewers in the new Tarta-Hovercraft. When Donatello turns on an adjustable spotlight, it immediately picks up someone flailing in the water. They pull up alongside and Leonardo fishes out a turtle girl. He tells Donatello they need to get back quick because she needs help.
At the lair, the Turtles and Splinter gather around the girl, who is now wrapped in a blanket. She comes to and asks where she is, so Splinter tells her she’s safe in their little home. The girl says that they are the ninjas that Shredder was always talking about. Splinter asks if he created her and she says that Shredder wanted to develop stronger mutant turtles that would be faithful to him. The girl tells them that the experiment failed and she was the result. Michelangelo says that for a failure, she did a good thing. The girl explains that she escaped from the Tecnodromo, but now she has nowhere to go. Leonardo tells her not to cry, because she can stay with them. The other Turtles agree wholeheartedly. Leonardo introduces himself and then his little brothers. The girl says that her name is Keem. Raffaello points at a poster of Keem Daryl and Leonardo explains that she is their favorite actress. Wearing a sly look, Keem thinks to herself that he is a fool and she knows that very well. In the following days, it becomes obvious that the Turtles are fawning over Keem. Watching as his sons argue over their attempts to impress the girl, Splinter realizes the situation is terrible and their team spirit is gone. Anche le tartarughe hanno un cuore
While visiting the lair, April O'Neil watches the Turtles fight for Keem's attention. Splinter tells the reporter that he is worried, because it was only after Keem arrived that his sons began to behave this way. April equates the disappearance of Keem Daryl for a few hours with the mysterious appearance of this Keem. Splinter guesses that Shredder probably used her as a model for Keem’s mutation. April replies that Keem was not a mistake, Shredder created her on purpose. Splinter only hopes that the boys’ emotional rivalry doesn’t diminish their teamwork in battle. Later, Keem has gotten the Turtles to accompany her to the roof of a skyscraper. Leonardo asks why she wanted them to come to the roof with her. Raffaello asks why she wanted them all together because he’d prefer to accompany her alone. Keem explains that she has never seen the city from above and then adds that they have an appointment. She points at Shredder, who has arrived accompanied by an armed Rocksteady. Shredder praises Keem on a job well done. Donatello asks Keem why she would do that to them because they trusted her. Shredder calls them gullible and that his Molecularizer Cannon will put an end to them.
Keem reacts with surprise, saying that he didn’t tell her he wanted to kill them. Shredder calls her stupid and asks if she thought he meant to invite them to dinner. Angered, Keem lashes out, yelling that she won’t let him before slapping the cannon out of Rocksteady’s hands. It falls over the side of the building and smashes on the street below. Shredder shouts at Keem, calling her a traitor and saying it’s up to her to get it back. He throws her over the side of the building. Infuriated, Raffaello prepares to turn Shredder into confetti. Shredder calls for a retreat, and he and Rocksteady leap through the nearest skylight. The Turtles rescue Keem and when they bring her back up to the rooftop, she tells them she owes them her life. Michelangelo replies that she saved them, too. Leonardo says she had given them to Shredder, and wonders what changed her mind. Keem answers that she thinks she’s in love. The Turtles want to know with whom, and she answers with all of them because they are amazing. Then she says she has a confession to make and proceeds to remove her shell, revealing that she has a long tail. Raffaello is astonished that he has a crush on a mutant lizard. Keem says they couldn’t find a turtle, so they chose her. Heading to the rooftop exit, Keem bids them farewell and says that one day they’ll see each other again, but for now, she needs to be alone. When she is gone, Leonardo urges the others to have courage, as the fight continues. Michelangelo says there is always pizza for support. Anche le tartarughe hanno un cuore episodio 2
